[WIP/RELz] VadersApps diverse NPCs

Post » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:34 pm

This mod adds 7 new skeletons for all vanilla NPCs. I have added several new scale bones that makes people ingame look fat or thin.
The first version of this mod will change the bodies of the male Bruma Guards. In the future i will add more and more Npc′s.
It is easy to add diversity to other NPCs. Only weightpainting the clothes to the the new bones is necessary.

I also worked on diversity for the girls, you know what i mean ;), and will release an update soon ™.
First i have to find a way to make weightpainting easier. Maybe one of you can give me a hint how to join lower an upper body armature without destroying the transform data for the lowerbody?
If i could make a full skeleton things would be faster.

I assume this would break the use of all body mods like HGEC and the EVE replacers for stock armor?

I have optimized the weightpainting process to speed up adding new clothes for diversity.
This update contains lowerclass 01 and 02 for the male.

So, as you already stated, HGEC works fine with your mod. However, how about Robert's Male Body Replacer?

What can i say? It′s based on Robert′s Male Body Replacer ;)

I wanted to be sure before weightpainting all the clothes and armor, that i could achive the best quality as possible. That′s why it also using BBB for female and male for their belly. Fatter Npc′s have more wobbling skin.

Very cool! I'll be giving this one a try in that case!

Thank you! :)

I am realy new to the whole process of skinning the clothes. I wonder if there is a solution for black faces having white bodies after adding roberts clothes with weightpainting for the new skeletons.
I don′t know how to prevent this. Please could someone give me a hint how to fix this? I don′t want to redo the whole weightpainting process after finishing all the clothes.

Made lowerclass 03 and 04 today and new version is ready for release later.

Couldn't edit the previous post.

Found the solution. After exporting the body NiMaterialProperty for the skin was "shirt" not "skin".
It could be fixed with Nifskope, so it′s should be easy to fix the skin also for the released bodies.

I tried the v0.2 of this mod. I wasn't able to see it's effects as I experience a lot of issues with infinity spiking textures or meshes... Not sure which it was. I made the mistake of adding this on top of a 185 mod load list. So something didn't like your mod, but I can't pin point it yet. I will try this out on a Vanilla install first and on top of Roberts Male Body and HGEC afterwards to get a decent test. Keep up the good work though man!

It should work with every body replacer because it replaces the meshs. The esp contains new skeletons for all vanilla npcs. The skeletons are based on Coronerra maximum compatible skeleton. I have added extra bones. If the mesh dont′t use them then there shouldn′t be any infinity spiking meshes but also no diversity. If the clothes are weightpainted to those extra bones they show the diversity. This is what i have done now with all male lowerclass clothes.

What causes your problem could be that the new weightpainted lowerclass meshes are also used by npcs that come with other mods. Those npcs use the standard skeleton, but also the new meshes.

Thanks to your report i know now that i also have to exchange the standard skeleton with a skeleton that have added the new bones, but not scaled. Then there shouldn′t be any mesh problems. As my skeleton is based on Coronerras of course BBB and other animation mods will work also.

I will upload a bugfixed version after i made an universal (male/female) skeleton with the new bones.

Thank you!

Edit: I have uploaded Version 0.26

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37013

0.26, 2011/02/11 - added first person skeleton
-> fixed infinit meshes in first person view
- added skeletonbeast.nif
-> fixed infinit meshes for other than human npcs
- added skeleton.nif
-> fixed non vanilla npcs infinit meshes

edit2: I have tested the latest release with vanilla game installation and also with extreme modded version.
It works as intended - no side effects anymore. If a vanilla NPC is wearing lowerclass clothes it got its diversity, every other NPC stick to their bodymesh without infinit meshes.

edit 3: teaser... only numbers in transform data of the skeleton...

The last days i worked hard on my mod. I now can tell you that i′ve made some tools. One that automate the skeleton generation process.
I ran it today, and it gerenerated 150 new body types, looking realy great i think.
Here is a new video featuring Bruma Guard and their girlies ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTsQmU8LuJk

Another tool does automate the weightpainting process. It works alone, so i could drink a beer an watch it doing the magic.

You can see that Bruma Armor is weightpainted to the new skeletons and also all lowerclass clothes. But of course the highlight in this clip are the nice looking females

I would appreciate if you could give your opinions about it.

I think i will rename the mod to VORB - VadersApps Oblivion Real Bodies, because that′s what they are.
