Enemy indicator

Post » Tue Apr 12, 2011 9:29 am

In FO 3 one of my favorite things was the enemy and friend indicator on the bottom of the screen. I can't remember all the times when I'm tryin to sneak up on some bandits in a camp and get a few sneak shots on them. But then i find out they weren't even bandits. And now good people are trying to kill me. Discuss. Please only constructive criticism. :D

Just use Detect Life, and if you're a good character, identify your targets.

I think thats a terrible idea to be honest being told there are enemies nearby takes away all the surprise.

Just use Detect Life.

This is a good idea, but I think the real problem being addressed here is the inability to differentiate between friend and foe. What I would like to see is a color coder of some kind while using a detect life spell so you could tell allies and enemies apart. What I mean is that the two would glow different colors so we you can know

I don't mind enemy indicators in Fallout, but in TES I'd rather not have them.

Yeah that would be cool if they implemented that

^ i think they should replace the compass with the mini-map again (which was more useful, still gave north-south-east-west directions, and easily should have a small arrow on the side for a quest marker) and as such the detect spells could also put a dot on ur map.

No biggie, there's a lot of stuff to remember in these games. It would be nice if there was a bit more sinister design to a bandit camp to differentiate them from peaceful travelers.

Since people here tend to hate that little green arrow that helped them find certain things without getting frustrated searching for them all around, looking up guides and walktroughs that gives step by step instructions how to find said item, they'll also hate this idea with a passion.

By the way, this indicator in F3, used Perception, so you could say that you've heard, smelled or sensed them. There's no skill or attribute that's like this in TES though...

Right. It made sense in FO3, because your character literally could be more observant than you (the player). :)

(It also mattered a bit more, since nearly everyone had powerful ranged weapons. Most likely not the case in Skyrim. :D)
