I have started to download mods for oblivion and having troubles. I thought that the standered way to install mods was to extract the files to your oblivion data files. The mod that i am downloading specificly is Duke Patricks Combat Archery mod. Can someone Help Me.

OBMM (Oblivion mod manager) or BAIN (part of Wrye Bash).

Oblivion mod manager is easier (installs files that are in omod format). You can get the OBMM installer here. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097

Take some time and read through the manual.

If the mod is not an omod or omod ready (where you have to create the omod), the manual will tell you how to make one.

IIRC, you must find the password in the readme to be able to unzip the archive with the esp/ini for Duke Patricks Combat Archery. Don't ask me what I think of that... But other than that it should be a normal install. It also requires OBSE.

yes i have password. I have all the files but dont know how to get to obivion. What is OBSE?

For Duke's, extract the meshes etc. to the data folder - and then do the same with the esp/ini from the password protected archive.
