Mod request: Beliavable Rich Merchant

Post » Sun Apr 24, 2011 2:46 pm

One of the more annoying things, especially when playing with enhanced economy, is when loot keeps stacking, armor and weapons most of the time, that you can’t sell to anyone because no merchant has enough gold. The best one can do is to trade items to give the merchant some gold, but that just creates even more clutter eventually.

And the option of just letting the stuff to gather dust in the basemant (or worse just abandon it in the ruin, cave, etc where you found it) till the merchant resets and haves some gold doesn’t sound right.

So what i request is a Enhanced economy compatible merchant with lots of gold to sell all the stuff, but not any random merchant, but someone you can believe has that amount of gold, and is that willing to buy all the stuff from you.

I was thinking in a retired and rich adventurer with a mansion somewhere, that in his young days raided tombs, ruins, caves and other places much like the player does, and in the years made contacts with people around the world that let him sell almost anything abd mass a fortune….

….now that he is old and retired, and you show at his door with a ton of loot recollected from around the world and he offers you a deal: he will buy anything you have at fair prices, and sell it to its contacts around the world so every piece of loot you sell will be well used.

And also as an added bonus, he could have a quest based in how much you sell to him, prompting him to gift the player with his own gear of the olde days, rare artifacts, and finally, giving the player the keys to the house..

To clear some points:
-Retired adventurer in a very nice mansion.
-Should be enhanced economy compatible and have a lot of gold to barter
-he should only buy stuff, not selling it, if you are gonna get something from him, it must be a gift from selling him enough stuff
-He’s not a fence, so will never buy stolen goods, that’s what fences are for.
-Should have 100 in mercantile and a low multiplier for buying…that he can buy anything and has gold for it doesn’t mean he is gonna give you best deals too…

So can someone do a mod like this or something similar exist? Than you.

(or worse just abandon it in the ruin, cave, etc where you found it)

Worse? This sounds like the ideal solution to me: encumbrance as a meaningful game mechanic, so picking stuff up isn't always the best idea.

Oh hey, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10925. ;)
