The Cyrodiil Upgrade Pack?

Post » Tue Apr 26, 2011 11:57 pm

What exactly does it do? Is it a texture upgrade, does it have any incompatibilities? I can't seem to find any info on it, I just found the link for it: http://www.theengineeringguild.co.uk/oblivion-mods-unsupported

Thanks, also is 7.3 the highest patch for Kvatch Aftermath http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/Kvatch_Aftermath;97737

Thanks.

As far as I am aware it is a master resource file, however, the moderators don't like us talking about those mods here.

Yeah, long story short the guy that makes them asked not to be linked or talked about on the BGS forums. And he seems to hate Wyre. Last time I checked, over on his personal forums (can't link it :@) he had withdrawn all of his Oblivion mods. Presumably he found another reason to whine.

An alternative is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24279.

Not sure what the difference is and such, but it's there.

Not sure.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/search.php

Here are all the mods. Check the file and folder structure and see if they are the same, or wait till someone else answers and they will know.

The read-me might also help :D

Or alternatively you can install http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15412 instead if you want a Kvatch mod, it's probably a better option since it has better compatabliity with other mods, unlike He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's mods.

I'm not aware of any incompatibilities with the Upgrade Resource master (EDIT: specifically the "upgrade resources pack" which you can find on FilePlanet). It basically is just a mechanism for loading new resources that are common to that author's mods. I don't think it touches existing resources. I'm running the master myself with FCOM and 200+ mods, without problem or any noted conflicts in a conflict report.

I needed to run it in order to run Origins of the Mage Guild as well as Fighter's Guild Contracts. As for Kvatch Aftermath itself, you'll need to check a conflict report on that since it will be altering the base game obviously.

I have it but Aftermath looks way better. Honestly I did not know about what his name is or his mods. I have been playing Oblivion on my Xbox all these years and just recently came to modding, found his mod and was like cool.

There is also http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167176-kvatch-rebuilt-underground-beta/, that just got released too, so you might want to check it out.

But, bottom line is, if you expect G's (let's call him that for now) mods to run along side a mod heavy set up, then you'll be hard pressed to get things to work. And the only help you'll get from him is to uninstall everyone else's mods because they work fine on his set up. And if you mention Wrye Bash, prepared to be flamed away from teh forums :D

EDIT:

@Stromgarde, CURP will run fine but his other mods are notoriously dirty. So apparently the answer is google it and it'll be on fileplanet if you want to use it.

Yes, I needed to clean both OMG and Fighter's Guild Contracts, not just with TES4EDIT but manually as well to remove some dirty edits. OMG also needed some patches to work with some other mods. I was specifically referring to the Resource Pack master as not causing conflicts.

No. Just download and install the Cyrodiil Upgrade Resource Pack (CURP) - it is exactly as it is named, a resource pack. It makes no changes in-game by itself, it contains meshes, textures and sounds used by the mods created by the same author.
Dragon Captions Resource Pack (DCRP) is being replaced with the County Sutch Reborn Master (CSRM) resource pack. The DCRP is an old version of CURP, which many Dragon Captions mods made use of. The CURP was supposed to maintain backwards-compatibility with Dragon Captions mods, but it does not, as some critical records were removed from the CURP ESM. For this reason, Dragon Captions are moving onto the CSRM instead, totally independent of DCRP and CURP.
The mods created by the modder who tends to be referred to as "he who shall remain nameless" (or similar), and the modder himself, are not topics typically allowed to be discussed here on Beth forums, as usually any thread which comments on him or his mods leads to a bit of negativity towards the mod author. Reasons for such negativity are also not allowed to be discussed here on the forums.

So download the CURP to play Kvatch Aftermath, and yes v7.3 is the final version, however the mod author did also create Kvatch Rising, which he considers a superior Kvatch mod.

EDIT
7.8 is the final Kvatch Aftermath release. It's been so long since I had to touch the mod, I forgot.

What zips do I need to install specifically for Aftermath? I found a KA V7.8 in there. Says in requires: "From 7.5 onwards CURP 1.5 or higher is needed. CURP 1.5 comes with the CURP_Controller which moves the hair meshes and other stuff from KA in to a shared esm file so all mods can use it. This should mean the NORACEFIX file is now obselete."

Basically what files do I need for KA. Bcs there are a ton of them

Assuming it's the same as other mods by that author you'll need both Cyrodiil Upgrade Resource Pack version 1.49 and then overwrite it with the CUO Resource Pack Patch version 2.6. Both can be found in FilePlanet. If you're familiar with PyFFI then you might want to PyFFI some of the appropriate meshes before installing.

I dont have to do the construction set part right? Just extract it into the oblivion folder, because KA only requires the textures, meshes and esm?

I think you can download the latest version here: http://www.fileplanet.com/216598/210000/fileinfo/The-Elder-Scrolls-IV:-Oblivion---Giskards--Cyrodiil-Upgrade-Mod-Pack

That download contains all of his mods. I would use Kvatch Rising instead of Aftermath though. It's from the same mod maker but it's a newer more lore friendly version if I'm correct.

That is the one I used. I just uninstalled Kvatch Rebuilt, but when I ran OBMM with CURP installed it started but then closed back to desktop. Ran Tes4edit found this:

[00:11] Background Loader: Fatal: The system cannot find the file specified>

I think it might be Kvatch Rebuilt but I deleted that...

I thing there was a special procedure to uninstall Kvatch Rebuilt but I'm not sure... Maybe some of the more knowledgeable people here can shed some light on this:)

edit: try this:

3.Un-Installing

Due to the way Kvatch Rebuilt handles certain things, it is recommended you follow the uninstall path below, rather than just deactivating the plug-ins (Especially after the quest 'Blood on the Road').

In game, go somewhere well away from Kvatch and not in any Kvatch Rebuilt locations. Open up the console (The ?/` key to the left of the ‘1’ key) and enter the following:

SetStage KRUninstall 10

A message should appear asking you to save and exit. Do so, then deactivate BOTH the Kvatch Rebuilt esp and esm plug-ins. Restart Oblivion and load the save you made. Answer yes to the prompt about plug-ins having been removed. Once the game is loaded save again. That's it!

Ah yes that is right  thanks! Forgot about that part, I just deactivated the esp and esm... Alright cool

Edit: I think I messed something up, OBMM won't load with Kvatch Rebuilt, regardless if it has been uninstalled or not.

Sigh Looks like I have to go clean slate, uninstall Oblivion, OBMM ect.
