Splash Damage, don't give in

Everything about BRINK is absolutely as it should be except the amount of stuff. The one and only downside, not enough content. $35, wait for price drop. Buy it, love it, worth it.

Since I covered the one negative, let's go over the positives.

Weaker headshots, more strategy. [kills by intelligent actions, not lucky shots]
Accurate statistics on weapons, delay indicators, and accuracy.
Classes all cover their roles with great detail.
Lower damages overall, more strategy. [same as headshots]
Separating fighting and team-interaction skills allowing independent customization (weight & class) [most class-based games force everything together in each class]
Having only assault game mode so everyone is funneled into it.
Tutorials teaching new players teamwork.
Low level cap, less grind more fun.
Easier-to-earn weapons and attachments, more fun less grind.
time delays are balanced very well; supply regeneration, time to use various skills, reload and equip times.
weapons and skills balanced fairly well.
Class abilities make teamwork exponentially more effective than other games, allowing it to dominate those without.
Graphics and sound style are uniquely tough but smooth around the edges.
melee knocks down instead of kills instantly [intelligent actions, like no headshots]
grenade cooldown to prevent grenade spam, balanced with other elements well
Increasing the complexity of the overall game as rank increases, allowing new players to better handle it. [some games just toss everything in together even if they have matchmaking]

Let's be honest for a second, BRINK has the content of a $35 game. It's awesome just overpriced. Either overpriced or too little content, they're saying the same thing.

Wait for a price drop and buy this.

Then can somoene kindly explain how it is that while playing as a heavey with FIVE extra health pips I get decimated in 3 shots by SMGs from across fairly large rooms?
Yet i can scope in on someones head and unload a full clip (in 3-5 rnd bursts) without dropping them?
I'de really LOVE to know wtf i'm doing wrong or wtf thier doing right.

Agreed with the rest though.

Also, the damage boost on headshots is nowhere near the "instant death" levels most modern games use, mainly because of how far from instant kill the shots are on regular hits. And consistently landing headshots to take advantage of the damage bonus takes skill, not luck.

good edit. i agree with the rest of the post for the most part, the only thing that made me somewhat regret purchasing on launch was the lack of content. i was mentioning to a few friends that right now it feels definitely worth $30-35, but not $50

But I do think people's complaints about a lack of content are off base. I think theres plenty of content in the game at present, and the quality of content is terrific. I really hope they dont give in to the whiners and bring in CTF or TDM or any of the other tired old nonsense.
