Flails!

I wonder if you could give the flail a skeleton, then use Havok Behavior with it to give it more realistic movement?

you can give it constraints, which will make it act like an objects, but hitting and object is determined by length of object and not collision

I have always loved flails. They are a required addition. Well, maybe not, but they would be awesome, I completely agree.

Flails are awesome! I'd love to see them in TESVI:Summerset Isle at least, as they won't be in TESV:Skyrim. :(

If anything, I would love to see a tough boss giant come out of its cave dragging a flail XD

wouldnt it be awsome if there were flails?
Yes, very much so. I would imagine they could do it with Havok behaviors.

*Not that I know the least about HB's ~just yet.

I'd like to see flails in Skyrim, but if it would be a huge hassle for the devs to program them (and I suspect it would be), then I'm perfectly fine with not having them. After all, the previous games have managed without them.

Just because it's on a chain doesn't mean they have to use physics. It would be nice, but they could just have an attack animation. They had chain physics in OB, so they could do it though.
This exactly. They have swords on chains in God of War, just animated. Do the same for this game.

If it comes down to spears vs flails, I would choose spears. Spears feel perfect for Skyrim. Hell, our ancestors used it to hunt down mammoths! Flails feel more European crusader medieval.

spears are for stabbing, you can't stab in elder scrolls games because that would mean that the enemies would die, and you cant get a one shot kill.

Eh. Flails are my favorite medieval weapon and all, but my god, can you imagine programming those in the game without them being the most buggy things ever? It's so hard to include flails in a game with physics like we have today. Too much effort for too little pay off. Spend time on better things, I say.

One look at the way things have worked under Havok physics and I can only imagine flails as painful comic relief. Hit giant for 10 points, flail head Havoks back into you for 25 then begins a frantic match of "ping-pong to the death!"

Well problem thats you see only havoked flails, but there is another way to make them: Animations
So such flails can be done for creatures at last if not for NPC and Player.
