I do't think the 20 figure was ever officially reported? It was just people guessing from what was on the map, I think? Could be a lot of those names were just landmarks or quests and the like...

It was in several of the magazines. Look up the italian coverage, pretty sure it's there.

That'd be 81 major locations, which seems a stretch. Could be there'll be 9 settlements plus 5. Or 4 settlements plus 5?

Middle option seems most likely. Either way, a tad disappointing and less than the '20+ settlements' people talked about at the time of GameInformer.

Eighty-one major locations could include temples, ruins, settlements and much more. So, I suppose eighty-one might be a fair number. Perhaps, there will be 20+ settlements in all of Skyrim with each of the nine Holds having political control over some settelments.

What do they mean you "don't approach it"?

Could mean anything, but I reckon either of these two is more probable:

1. It's a guarded outpost, hence outsiders are prohibited.

2. The PC doesn't approach it in the demo.

You realize though they got the same demo as the ones Game Informer did? There won't be any elements added to the demo they got. For those kinds of questions, we'll have to wait till E3/Quakecon.

The article said mounts were undecided based on info from the Q&A session after the demonstration. Which means it's still undecided whether or not it'll be in the full game.

Thanks for the link, good info in that one. I especially liked one city like Riverwood in each of the 9 counties, and 5 distinctly large cities. What is Bethesda? Winning.

I'm pretty sure he meant that there are nine major settlements (one in each county) and five huge cities. Probably plus a handful of minor settlements also.
