Natural Environments mod - just the colours?

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 1:55 am

I really like the way the mod Natural Environments changes the colours of the game world.
The forests look alot nicer and greener.

But what I want to know is if its possible just to have the colours this mod changes and nothing else?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by colors. The only colors Natural Environments change would be those related to weather. I suppose that could make the forests look greener under the right conditions, especially combined with the Natural Vegetation mod making them denser.

But really what you should do is uninstall the Natural Weather part of the mod, or all of the ESPs if you don't care for them, and install http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18305 instead. It includes Natural Weather along with other weather mods in one big package, and has other really beneficial features. Don't be intimidated by the slightly more complicated install process--if you like Natural Environments, you'll love All Natural even more.

Also, if you want a more colorful world with greener forests etc., check out http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677:

Tired of that gray dull looking distant that ship's with the game, use this to change that. Want trees that are more green, grass that is more color ful, sky that blend well with other mods, etc..

Goal: To make distantlod map's and Landscape, Architecture file look much better with more detail and color. without a cost to increase in performance.

There was something to either Natural Environments, or another (similar?) mod from back in the dark ages of Oblivion modding. ;) Something to do with colour shift, I'm fairly sure.

What I remember is either this mod or another altering the lighting in general, from a kind of blue-ish default(?), to a warmer, yellow-ish "natural light" kind of effect.

Of course, easy enough to do with OBGEv2 (e.g., Color Moods) and/or ENBSeries, nowadays. :)

But, there might be something to the association of NE with warmer and/or more "natural" colours. Or, perhaps it was another mod after all...

edit: Rather like the weather mods (such as Fellout and Dynamic Weather) that offer some relief to that green-ish hue cast upon everything in Fallout 3, by default.

Yeah, Natural Environments definitely gave things a more yellow-ish tint. The thing is, with All Natural, you get those weathers from Natural Environments/Weather plus all kinds of other weathers from the other weather mods it includes. I can't see any reason for sticking with Natural Weather by itself when you get it included with All Natural (with its other amazing features too), unless you just want the Natural Weather type tinting all the time. But I'm a fan of diversity.

But All Natural doesn't keep the coloring the NE weathers originally had. You could tweak the color values in All Natural's ini to get a similar effect, in fact I've seen people request such values in the AN thread, but I don't think anyone's posted any.

To answer OP's question: No, you can't have NW's coloring only since it's defined in the weather parameters. At least you'd need the Natural Weather part of Natural Environments.
