i did it this way to get quick attention. i dont know why you did it this way :banghead: :brokencomputer: but shouldn't the hot topics be on the top of the "skyrim general discussion" list, and a link to the new posts, that would stop all of the addtional block posts :glare: make sure more then 2 mods see this before blocking it :cookie:

1 because why would i want to see all these blocks and stupid posts. 2 it wouldnt make the blocked post because noobies would know not to post it because of the fact its out already

usually when some one trys to get the mod's attention it results in a locking of a topic. try sending a personal message to a mod, they don't bite. they may not get to you right away but they will eventually.

this, too.

you know its a hot topic if its got something like 5 pages, but otherwise mods would have to predict whethor or not a topic is going to be huge or not. not really necessary.

Better way is to make a Sticky containing the oldest, threads of a subject.. I did this in EA forums worked well for a few months but then the "Hi Im NEW!!" crowd came along and just went rampant making copies after copies after copies... so i gave up updating it...

But anyways i am only a user on that and the mods were friendly enough to sticky and helped for awhile just not much regulation by mods after some time passed :yawn:

Once someone replies the topic goes to the top of the list so on a thread like the one about the orc screenshot a lot of people post keeping it on the top of the first page.

So the blocked posts stay there for a little bit but you never have to scroll down far to find a thread with more then 2 pages on it.

Also why this page is on the top.

New posts bring thread to the top of the forum. Thus keeping the most active threads on the first couple of pages. Locked topics go to the top when we lock them because we moderators always post in them to explain why they are locked. That helps to not only keep moderators honest but also to keep folks aware of what we lock topics for so they can avoid making the same mistake. Getting our rules out there to become more common knowledge among more members.
