What I mean by this is not the lack of choice (as we know, Oblivion had a large variety of armour types) but the style. There is always your obvious http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.metzomagic.com/images/2006/Oblivion2b.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.metzomagic.com/showArticle.php%3Findex%3D762&usg=__o1K_U_0E5JV4117Eyp9tiA7hkpg=&h=480&w=640&sz=235&hl=en&start=80&zoom=1&tbnid=j_84IR3hDN2n4M:&tbnh=148&tbnw=201&ei=iVGtTdb7KYbj4waRpqyTCw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Doblivion%2Bheavy%2Barmour%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D935%26tbm%3Disch0%2C1189&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1380&vpy=569&dur=2083&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=243&ty=103&oei=Y1GtTdzqC5Cp8AOAyYzzAQ&page=3&ndsp=40&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:80&biw=1680&bih=935 armour or http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://screens.d00glez.com/1k.png&imgrefurl=http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/26839/t984954-character-thread/&usg=__CvLOhK-NeEZxfECOsojxOLYdBmQ=&h=768&w=1024&sz=1281&hl=en&start=78&zoom=1&tbnid=qk99R-xvbxlVfM:&tbnh=146&tbnw=194&ei=4lGtTf-mNdL24AaWk-znCg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Doblivion%2Blight%2Barmour%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D935%26tbm%3Disch0%2C1550&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=340&vpy=636&dur=2939&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=240&ty=106&oei=1FGtTazDIsKz8QPD3PHyAQ&page=3&ndsp=40&ved=1t:429,r:25,s:78&biw=1680&bih=935 armour.
When in actual fact for an avid adventurer neither of these would be useful. The heavy plate armour would not work due to movement in something of that size would be nearly impossible as it would be predominately designed for someone on horse back, fighting for a couple of hours and then changing after sweating half their body weight. The light leather armour would protect you from bumps and scratches but a well paced sword, axe, hammer or arrow and your going home in a box. What I would like to see is a variation armour of different material such as http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.figures.com/forums/attachments/news/11232d1284140732-clash-kings-aragorn-vs-king-dead-diorama-aragorn_face1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.figures.com/forums/news/11430-clash-kings-aragorn-vs-king-dead-diorama.html&usg=__bQ3JbeTCWwNe9QRKKZSdk_5-RqA=&h=615&w=775&sz=104&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=Y2WaIO8QcGxnOM:&tbnh=165&tbnw=208&ei=qVitTffsGcGg8QOCqr3zAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Daragorn%2527s%2Barmor%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D935%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=396&vpy=433&dur=397&hovh=168&hovw=212&tx=119&ty=135&oei=qVitTffsGcGg8QOCqr3zAQ&page=1&ndsp=50&ved=1t:429,r:23,s:0. Hardened leather bracer on the forearms with a thin plate on the top to deflect glancing blows in melee, light chain mail on the upper arms and armpits to prevent penetration from arrows and small blades, tough leather vest with padding, mail or light plate on the chest and abdomen and to top it all off a worn leather hooded cloak for protection against the elements.
So essentially this would be a mixture or 5-6 different armours in the game (aesthetics only of course). I know some mods equal this but nothing set in the game as a standard. I would also like this to be called "Medium armour".
