Honestly, the landmass in oblivion was fantastic. It never felt cramped. You just knew that there was lots to explore within what you could (mostly) see. That's exactly what made it feel like absolutely no other fantasy open world rpg out there. It was like home. It might not have been as alien as morrowind, but it felt like the shire. Add 500 mods (merged patches) and its the most replayable elder scrolls game, by a insanely huge shot. IMO.
Ok, got that out of the way.
Would I want skyrim to be huge, and the content to be placed more sparingly across the bigger canvas?

YES. And I don't understand why people say "i don't care or "misc responce" I think that would be the ultimate game. It would make the arguably best part of an elder scrolls game, exploring, something even more random. You walk for what seems like 20 minutes, and then find a cave. Instead of walk for 20 seconds in morrowind, or two minutes in oblivion, and find a dungeon.
Spacing that out, would make every discovery that much more rewarding. imo.
