As someone who has had even a bit of experience scripting and making mods for Oblivion and Fallout, I can say that I am slightly worried about this. I would often pull attributes into my scripts as variables to use when calculating things, and now that they're gone, myself and other modders may have no way to know how "intelligent" a player is, how "strong" they are, etc. I don't really care about the impacts on the base game, as I think that perks will do a fine job of providing me with me role playing fix, and I was never particularly attached to attributes as a player either way, but as a modder, I am legitimately concerned. Any other modders out there considered this yet? Thought of ways around it? I'm sure that once SKYSE (Skyrim Script Extender
) is released we'll be able to get at the UI and make mods to bring back attributes, but it'll have to be a community-established standard, there'll have to be ONE attribute master file that all the other plugins that depend upon attributes use, it'll definitely be a lot messier than if they had just left them in...
