a couple of mod(?) related problems

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 9:46 pm

over the last few days i've been setting up my OB with all the mods i want\need etc

but i've had heaps of problems, fortunatly, i've only got 3 left.

1.
All the other sounds work ingame, but no effect sounds are playing (attacking, magic etc etc)
now, i dont think it's my drivers, other games work fine, and all the other sounds works.

2.
all my potions and spells have strange names (my mate has this problem aswell)
restore health is:
healing 1
restore magica is:
charging 1

and it goes on, i even hav a "X enz "something" potions, which is dispel

now this looks foriegn to me... ?

3.
lastly, i have some random error markers in kvatch:

Number 1 is possibly Load Order related, but i am guessing.
Number 2 can be caused by using the Tweak Names section of the Bashed Patch.
Number three might be fixed by changing the dates on the Bsa files, I install using BAIN, but I still use OBMM to reset my Bsa timestamps so I don't get missing Meshes and Textures.
On the clothing and armor mods that come after the Bashed Patch, These can be moved in your Load Order to go between the Stock Clothing and Armor replacers and the Underworld Armor esp. They should go in Alphabetical Order.
I placed my Open Cities Reborn esp in front of my Bashed Patch, and I have had no problems with it. You should consult the readme, I think I am using a more recent version than you.
Make sure you have the most current BOSS masterlist. I think the xulSnowDale belongs in alphabetical order with the rest of the UL esp's.
I am not sure what the Camping, DBAlter ego, and Race.esp do, but Camping and the DB mod could go near the Alternate start mod.

i fixed number one 1. hadn't noticed the BSA was missing.

2. haven't activated any of those, makes me think it's a ESP that's causing it.

3. you dont think it could have anything to do with using the unoffical-offical patch?

my BSA's are fine, spent ages setting them up (atleast, afaik).

bashed patch sure does seem like a pain XD

The names for spells look like the names tweak in bashed patch. Verify options and rebuild patch. You need to BOSS the load order, get the latest masterlist too.

I do not see any mod in your load order that would change the spell names. You can run tes3edit with default mods selected when you start (including your bashed patch) and see what is changing the names.

As already stated (several times), you need to install http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 and run it against your load order to properly sort all your mods. There's absolutely no reason for Open Cities (for example) to be listed below your bashed patch. An out of order load order is the cause of many problems, and could fix 1 and 3 of your issues. BOSS also applies the appropriate bash tags for your bashed patch.

For #2, that is from the bashed patch Import Names heading. If you prefer not to have it that way, uncheck Rational Names.csv in that category.

(It's also much easier for people to troubleshoot load orders if you show the list from Wrye Bash. In the Mods tab, right click on the File header and choose List Mods. Copy/paste from the box that pops up. It even includes spoiler tags. This way we can see what the versions are of the mods you are using.)
