Maybe you should consider doing what I did. Buy your PC one or two parts at a time to help defer the cost. Over the last 2 months I've bought a i7-2600k processor ($ 330), an Asus p8-p67 motherboard ($ 161), Cooler master HAF 932 full tower case ($ 150), Western digital 1.5 TB hard-drive ($ 100), Windows 7 ($100), and tomorrow i pick up 1 4 gig ram stick (about $60), and an 850W power supply ( about $200). I'll put my old graphics card, a GeForce 8800 in it and she'll run great for start. Sometime in the next few months I'll grab a Ge Force 570 video card ($350) and more ram ($60 per 4 gigs) , a Solid state boot drive ($100) , and a second hard drive to run in RAID config ($100). Less than $1600 spread over 4 months = less than $400 a month for an awesome, graphics stomping, uber overclockable machine. Buy a second graphics card to run in tandem and It's still less than $2000 total and you wont need a new computer for at least 5-6 years if not more, while getting max graphics settings far into the foreseeable future. I also found that getting a few pieces a month really let me do my research, learn about what every part of a computer does in great detail, and gave me lots of time to youtube and research the assembly of said parts. The manual for the Asus mother board takes all of the guess work out of what get plugged into where, and the clear labeling of all wires in the Coolermaster box helped greatly. So, we've got 200 days or so till Skyrim is released! My advice.. buy a great processor and get started simply with that. Watch the rest of your system-to-be grow like sea-monkeys in the months to come!! Excelsior!!!
