only speculation, although it does look like the pauldrens will be separate
also it looks like they are doing what they did with fallout in terms of addons to armor and probably texture packs so there could be different textures for every armor, but again this is just pure speculation
also did you know that fallout has like 16 armor slots

This could be a huge let down for me i really hope they keep making the armor separate , if they make a 1 whole piece that would be like killing the game for me :shakehead:

Pete did tweet once that there was more than two pieces to armor. Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't only three (helm, chest, legs).

So far they've made it really hard to decipher how armor is laid out, as all the armor shown has been shown in full sets.

Well, from what I've seen every character with a pauldron had what seems to be a matching cuirass, so I'm not sure whether we can switch out pauldrons by themselves or whether they come with the cuirass. I'd like to be able to mix and match, but who knows.... One thing is for sure, that legion guard's armor looks a lot more Roman, and this is a good thing.

I know right? I mean, they cut a handful of attributes and added 200+ perks, ability to dual wield, and added dragon shouts on top of the melee and magic systems. What have they done to us?

While I'm super happy and impressed by all the new improvements to the next TES, I would very much prefer the separate armor pieces. If shoulder guards are merged to cuirasses, I wouldn't mind, I never played Morrowind or anything prior to that anyways. But I think the new enchanting skill's versatility and usefulness would benefit a lot from being able to enchant many wearable pieces of gear instead of a single outfit. Because of this reason I think they will have the traditional TES armor system. Also its just a lot funner :)

I have no issues with the other streamlining, but I would be dissopointed if they cut more armor slot from OB.

At least I woul dlike to have separate shoulders and separate arm armours .... so as minimum I 'd say :

Helmet
cuirass
leggings
Boots
R. Pauldron
L. Pauldron
R. arm
L. arm
Gloves

best if even different leggings ...

Well they can also add some additional slots like Amulet\cloak, Rings (L\R), belt\skirt, shield, quiver, weapon slots.

I've heard that they've completely done away with armor now, and that armor's stats and functions will be handled by Health/Magicka/Stamina and Perks.

A lighthearted joke.

OB armour for sure.
Possible left and right gloves.
Possible pauldrons.
Possible cloths n armour stacking.
No real word yet.

With enchanting as a fledged skill gives me hope for stacking of SOME cloths and armour as clipping would be less trouble than lots of extra armour slots, but it may not be usfull or make sence to have a charming regal outfit effecting people at the same time as an intimidating set of daedric amour...
Duel wield system gives me hope for separate gloves, as that's easy and could be effective with out adding loads of layers and make sence to have a magic glove for spell arm and a strength gauntlet for your sword arm.
As for paudrons, I would just like them to be separate but again if they where it would need to be indiviaul to get the best of it aseticly for me, I care not for the loads of enchanting space, I form over function my characters helps me rp better.
