Why does my game have Syringes in it?

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 11:04 am

One thing I don't get in my game, it has syringes. Scratched Syringe, Syringe and Pristine Syringe... where did these come from?
I'm running all kinds of mods- FCOM, Better Cities, all sorts. These items however have no Mesh and give me the 'WTF I AM A MISSING MESH' deal.

Does anyone know what these are added by? At leasy if I know I could try and fix it, but I've never seen any mention of these in any of my mods so I have no idea where they come from. They've shown up in shops, cities and loot drops. Seems rather out of place to me.

Help, anyone?

Well, looking around I found a mod called "Syringe" that adds syringes for...certain reasons. Probably that.

I've never downloaded anything like that. Like I said, I've downloaded nothing that implies such things.
I also looked up that mod, I've never seen it before.

I think that would have stood out as an obvious reason on my load order...

Use FormID Finder or Refscope and check it in game.

Download http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21862 it will allow you to click on those missing meshes and find out exactly where they came from. They were likely some minor part of another mod you recently uninstalled, or in a mod recently installed incorrectly. The scope will tell you which. :D

[EDIT] Too slow...Arkngt beat me :P

While I'm sure FormID or Refscope would work (if I knew how to do them but) I took a very careful read of my load order and had a suspicion.
"Cure Disease Overhaul"- I figured this might have something to do with it. I looked up the mod again and DID find a reference to 'syringes' in it. I'll likely either re-install or remove it completely.
Appreciated all the same, I'm having a few Missing Texture problems lately it seems (certain weapons on enemies appear as missing textures for example)

Well I downloaded RefScope anyway, just in case it happens in future :) I've deleted 'Cure Disease Overhaul' but its dissapointing, as I wanted to make the diseases in Oblivion actually be a threat.
Anyone have any better suggestions? (I figured its not worth making a new thread for!)

Sorry for slight hijack, but which one do you guys recommend? Or can they even be used together? I have misunderstood what Vector does - I thought it was mainly about the PC being able to transmit diseases - so I'll surely try it. I tried Pestilent Afflictions a long while ago and can't remember why I stopped using it - I think it was because the PC got diseases all the time (like in every fight) so it was a bit too much. But I'd really like for dieseases to matter more than in vanilla.

You should be able to use Vector with Jjinx's Enhanced Diseases. However, you might find the effects overwhelming given Vector's various enhancements of the disease system.

@OP: Vector doesn't add any syringes.

I'd be careful with vector it's given me problems in the past and the latest one being http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1163243-dark-upon-entry/page__p__17113560__hl__crash_oxide__fromsearch__1#entry17113560, not saying you will have the same problem but I'm just a bit sceptical when it comes to that mod.

Missing texture on mesh is either the texture loose file is missing or the textures are in a bsa that is not loaded or registered in the ini. I had that problem from a missing Frans bsa. Worth a look.
