Amazing Bowstrings

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 9:31 am

I'm sure the answer is yes, but did anyone notice http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/93395/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/images/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-20110415033047799.html?page=mediaFull? It actually loops around the ned of the bow. I only noticed it 'cause I enlarged the picture to 1440x900 for my desktop.

Amazing attention to detail, Bethesda.

Aye it was great :) I'm really into R'Ping as an archer so this was a big concern, another thing I'm glad about is the Bow looked like the most basic model as it was plain and had no marking which makes good logic ,so yeah great attention to detail especially for meticulous folk like ourselves :)
P.S I have no idea why I'm being super Irish in my comments, normally I write normally but today for some reason I am particularly showing my heritage :)

Have you noticed that I'm Irish lately? Just thought you should know I'm Irish.

Just joking, just joking.

I didn't notice the bowstrings, thanks for pointing it out, they look brilliant.

Oh, I have noticed that, and you know what else I've noticed? The bow is wooden :celebration: . Isn't that so cool? There was no wooden bow in TES before :whistling:

EDIT: Well ok, it was wooden in trailer too, so meh, I guess I'm not the first :sadvaultboy:

Well then we'd better be able to unstring/restring our bow! And it had better wear out after every 100 shots or so to be REALISTIK! Also I want to be able to choose the tension/pull strength or I won't buy the game.
this seems like the appropriate response to new info on these forums so I thought I'd give it a go...

I had actually. The bow itself, not only the bowstring, looks very realistic. I like it

Good catch. Also notice that the string is not just a straight brown lace, but actually woven? Fantastic.

Yeah iron, steel, etc. bows have always kind of annoyed me.

But on topic, no I didn't notice that, nice catch. It's good to see that detail.

I also noticed in multiple articles that Todd uses a long bow in the demo. Could this mean that we get long bows and short bows?

While we might be able to use longbows and shortbows (although I suspect otherwise; the "sniper rifle" feel being described really matches better with longbows), this probably just means the reporter(s) thought it looked like a longbow. 'Cuz, y'know, it was long.
