Fallout was fun and all, but the dismemberment was insane. Far too over the top. I just read that Bethesda was considering dismemberment for Skyrim. Do not do this please. It would look stupid. Even constant finishing moves where you decapitate would take away from the general feel immensely. When I always cut off an enemy's head and be insanely flashy with inhuman feats, I don't get nearly as into the game I'm playing. It's dehumanizing, nobody can cut off every head perfectly or blow up somebody to the extent seen in Fallout 3 every 5 seconds. It looks silly. Please don't do it. It doesn't belong in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Edit: I do mean extreme dismemberment. I realize if you're cutting with a sword, stuff can happen.

Swords are sharp and they can cut things! Ridiculous I know!

But they've already said that it won't be like Fallout, not every kill will be a decapitation. But if you're flinging a giant axe at least some body parts should fall, no need for giant torrents of blood though...

Beth wants dismemberment, but they also do not want it at the levels of Fallout. I predict it'll happen when you do a finishing move, like in Deadly Reflex, for anyone who has played OB with that mod.

Honestly I don't think we've got anything to worry about. They know that the tone of TES is very different than that of Fallout, and while there will be some realistic blood and possibly minor gore, we don't have to worry about them over doing it.
