I've been really enjoying my latest play-through of Oblivion. I'm using MMMforOOO for the first time and love the experience and mostly enjoy the challenge.
However, I've encountered one problem and it leads me to a few questions. They are all in regard to the Oblivion realm and how OOO & MMM affect it.
I did the Kvatch quest, apparently, a little early and it was brutal. So I waited a bunch of levels before I tried closing another gate. So at about level 18, feeling cocky, I started out on my next gate closure and was doing fine until I was nearing the top of the main tower. That's when I encountered this room:

The 18 dremora were a mix of levels equal to or higher than mine, so I couldn't safely take on more than one in the confined space (NOTE: I also run Deadly Reflex - so combat is not very vanilla). So I had to do the tedious and terribly unpleasant task of pulling them down the hall one at a time and killing them individually. This was not even remotely fun and it was bad from a role-playing standpoint (as it just didn't seem realistic). This was the result:

So my first question is, "Is this typical?" (i.e. Should I expect this regularly in the realm of Oblivion w/ OOO/MMM?)
This additionally made me wonder about OOO/MMM and how they affect the Oblivion realm. I know OOO removes a large amount of leveled creatures from the game. Does this include in the Oblivion realm? If so, are each of the areas to which each gate leads of a different difficulty? Is there a way to tell the difficulty from the Mundus side of the gate? For example, for the gate above, I picked one with relatively weak creatures on the Mundus side.
It's discouraging as I really enjoy fighting duels against dremora w/ Deadly Reflex - but fighting more than one or two at a time is difficult and not very much fun for me. So I need to evaluate my future plans for traveling to Oblivion.
Thank you for your insights,
