I have a quick Question

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 7:32 am

Wait, so now when I start the game I could make a nord and he could be just as good as a high elf with magic? Can someone explain to me on how this works. And if you are going to say something like look it up or something, please dont even post, I already did that. I need it to be cleared for me! Thanks <3

Todd Howard CLEARLY stated that they're trying to make the races more distinct, both visually and gameplay-wise.
That's the official word on it.
Don't believe people saying whatever you choose, you start as a blank slate. they don't even know that was officially revealed

Maybe after Todd or someone explains it to us. Until then nobody really knows, see. It's just the knee-jerk assumption mill running overtime.

I replied to a similar thread the same way as this, I just couldn't find right words to say it, so it came off being a bit confusing. This is exactly right. :)

Races are going to be more distinct.

This means upon entering the game, your base stats, depending on which race you choose, will differ.

A better question: Is a Nord that practices magic his entire life NOT supposed to be able to be as good as a High Elf, by genetics? That's ridiculous. Sounds more like eugenics and racism than anything, lol. White men CAN jump! :)

If racial bonuses are still in then a Mer may start with certain magic skills higher than a Nord. Buy eventually you should be able to max out magic with every race.

Bethesda's clearly on the Nature side of the development debate.

So do you have the Todd Howard encyclopedia or do you follow him on Twitter? What did he have for lunch, then? Not everyone knows everything Todd Howard does and says. Some people are less informed than others and seek answers to their questions via the forums. Just chill bro. If you don't like a thread, don't involve yourself.
