Skills List

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 11:02 pm

Since Acrobatics&Athletics are out, I guess we already can make some reliable assumption about the skill list. So here's what I come with:

Warrior:
  • One-handed
  • Two-handed
  • Smithing
  • Heavy armor
  • Hand to hand
  • Block

Mage:
  • Illusion
  • Conjuration
  • Destruction
  • Alteration
  • Restoration
  • Enchanting

Rogue:
  • Alchemy
  • Marksman
  • Light armor
  • Sneak
  • Security
  • Speechcraft

I'm not saying the skills will be named exactly as I stated, but I guess everybody understands what I mean
And now neither the H2H skill needs to be removed, nor armor skills need to be merged. So kinda hoorah!

So what do you think? Does it look right?

Didn't you make this exact thread, worded exactly the same, like a month ago, but with different stats?
If it wasn't you, it was someone. But the wording, the breaking down of stats, etc, was exactly the same.

Anyway, we don't know yet. All there is to say honestly.

No, that definitely wasn't me, I haven't made these threads before. But ther was plenty of them, and I may have remembered the format on some level of my mind :spotted owl:

I never understood the armor skills. Just choose the armor, that's all. Also block as a skill? Blocks are manual, player skill. Getting rid of them would open 3 slots.

I'm expecting to see general skills, like dexterity or agility to compensate the removal of attributes.

Haha, maybe just strange coincidence then.
Anyway, IMO, the skill list you've listed looks good to me. I'd be happy if that was actually it.
@vtastek
Blocking skill denotes how powerful your blocks are, and higher perks in the skill denote special block moves, just like in Oblivion. Bashing, etc.

Agility as its own skill... That's rather interesting to think of.

Hmm, I still think it is unrealistic and a waste of a skill slot. My strength(health?) or endurance(stamina?) can be better factors deciding my blocking. Perks can change that though. Also keep reading, I have one more point. :)

Add defense and attack instead of heavy armor and light armor. Now things can get pretty interesting. :hubbahubba:

I'm actualy 75% sure this could be it. It makes sense, not much could be juggled with, unless they rename more skills (Smithing = Armorer).

Cooking will appear, but not as a skill...

Also, can I see that about Alchemy? I trust you, but I would like to read it myself... I can't imagine how it could have been synergized.

Nooo? Alchemy's in. There's three crafting skills: Enchanting (magic), Smithing (combat) and Alchemy (stealth).

Haven't they said that? Or am I just rambling?

They have. That's why I would like to see it with my own eyes.

attack doesn't make sense, each weapon skill defines attack. And armor skills just add more customization, they don't have to be very realistic.

I expect for the warrior the skills will be..

smithing block one handed two handed and two other skills

We know magic..

Stealth will be

alchemy archery sneak security speechcraft and mercantile.

As for the last two combat skills I am betting neither armor nor hand to hand are in there.
