50_Steps To CTD (Almost) Free FCOM+++ Game

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:05 am

I've managed to have fairly successful FCOM installs in the past, especially since I started using Wrye Bash. But following this guide to the T (esp. with regards to pyffi and cleaning) has seriously improved performance for me, as well as providing an ever more stellar-looking game.

Nice to have some info in the thread on when to install texture replacers, etc. I'd already been establishing the mesh and texture hierarchy using the Installers tab in Wrye Bash, as opposed to the mod load order in BOSS+the mod tab, but I think I was doing them in a less than optimal manner.

Great guide, Blade of Mercy. Been linking to it daily as I add a few more mods, many taken from your list of quests.

Yep, thanks for your thanks but this is the old tread with a lot of out-of-date info.
I am sure that if you follow the recent tread 4 you'll find less dead links and your performance will be even better :D
The post before yours is from April 2010 in case you didn't notice :D
