Clarify on escaping Dragon encounters:

Yep. You don't have to outrun the dragon, just the nearest other edible creature. :D

that right there is why the most important thing for my characters is always speed.

Cities are open, not cells. Everything else is cells, though. Huts, houses, caves, temples, etc. But the cities are open, ala Morrowind.
Anyway, as silly as it does sound, and it DOES sound silly, how would you propose they fix this? Not really a lot you can do.

they could make dragons into NPCs so they could enter cells too.

I'll run into a hut, house, Castle and etc wait a few min then walk back outside if the Dragon is still there.. Then i'll run back inside and go for a long nap about 8 to 12 hrs long ( make sure I eat some mandrake leafs so A vampire doesn't bit me.. ) :D ..

If the Dragon is still there when I wake up then I'll make an attempt to fight it.. Hoping he doesn't turn me in to Ash :flamed:..

The way I see it, any dragon you're running from will likely be more occupied with the horde of guards planting swords and arrows into it's buttocks than with a coward who runs into a hobo's hut to hide.

It makes sense that way too; if you go to a town for safety, yo won't be the only one the dragon has to contend with, and he'll stop prioritizing you after a while.

Hey guys, I read an article about Skyrim a few days ago (sorry no link: read it on here though) talking about Dragon encounters.

It said the already known, that they'll be random, attack towns, ect...

But what it also said was that you could run inside a building or house to evade them. My guess would be the author meant this would be one of the means for escaping a Dragon attacking a town.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I thought cities and homes were using cells?
Does that really mean that if I jump inside a small wooden hut (i.e. some hobo's house) that I can escape an attacking Dragon? I can escape a giant fire breathing Dragon, by going inside a small hut made of wood a straw.

Am I the only one that see's a problem with this?

How long do I have to wait before I go back outside? Do I just chill in there with NPC's that are probably going to act totally oblivious to the mayhem going on outside, wait 5 minutes, then go back out and everything is okay?

Well I'm highly skeptical to say the least. :glare:

Yes, you are the only one that has a problem with it being a VIDEO GAME.

Just like Real Men, Real Dragons are ruthless and merciless.

I understand the technical difficulties of the cell thing, but is there no possible way to record the information.

Outside world: "Dude (Referring to the game's code) the dragon was in the same area and even targeting the player"
Cell Code: The player is currently in a specific cell that does not interact with the outside world, but since you said that it must be true, I will spawn said dragon outside waiting for the player.
Technical difficulty: That is impossibullz, you'll never remember how to do it, your in the closed space, stay in your safe corner and never interact with the outside world log.
Cell Code: But the outside world said...
Technical difficulty: Forget the outside world, you only need to remember me. You are incapable of such madness!
Cell Code: ...
Technical difficulty: Fine, BUT!!!, add 1 dragon for each hour the player is being stalked by the first one inside the cell.
Cell Code: Hmmmm.

*I come out after waiting 36 hours for kicks to find 37 dragons (Minor Drakes) waiting for me outside lazily rested on their bellies and wagging their tails with eyes fixed on me*
*I proceed to run away as fast as I can as I get eaten by those " ******* " *

We can't destroy cells, (Unless if coded for us to exit the cell after a fixed time of being inside and be introduced into the world cell just as the building is being burnt by the dragon, during this time the "hut cell" can no longer be entered as it has already been declared "currently destroyed"), but at least have dragons wait for us outside or proceed to destroy whatever is nearby.
