will they still have music cues to tell that an enemy's arou

I don't know that they sneaked, but that doesn't mean they never came up behind you undetected as you walked down a path minding your own business.

No, they almost always did "sneak". If an enemy doesn't run into your field of view, they rarely ever made enough noise to alert you to their presense before they hit you. Bears, Ogres, etc, all effectively became masters of sneak if you didn't have the battle music cue.

Ok then, all the more reason to fix the music cue up for those of us that want to keep music on. :flamed:

Remember Fallout 3? The combat music only played when you were attacked something that's an actual threat.

So I'm sure even if it's back, it's going to be more seamless.

I tend to agree. lurking these forums for a while, ive seen this come up in the past. theyve thought of so much for this game that i definitely think their sound team has at least thought about this.

I love getting the drums when I'm level 17 and it's just some rat or something...should be changed to th tune that a Jack-in-the-box makes.

Yeah, I also found that over-the-top and very anti-climactic. If it is implemented, it should be scaled to some degree in terms of threat.

I generally turn the music level way down since it gets a little old after a week straight of playing. I usually don't hear the first few bars of the combat music until the volume increases during the fight.

I have also been known to play music while I play which tends to overwhelm the games sounds.

I guess I don't mind having the combat music start when an encounter is imminent, since I don't hear it very often.

I wonder what that violin alert sounds like.

I'd like this music to start after the first hit is made, or else it spoils the whole fun.

This. The concept of stealth relies on the element of surprise for both the hunter and hunted.
