dodging

Do you guys know if we will be able to dodge attaks like roll out of the way of a attack like oblivion but better?

I think there should be dodging it would make the combat more realistic and entertaining

we also have the dragon shout that slows down time, so that will be useful for dodging

Anyone play Demon's Souls? I want something like that.

Actually, if all combat in Skyrim was handled like Demon's Souls, I wouldn't object.

There was one article (forget which one, there are too many) that said they were constantly dancing around a bandit looking for an opening in his guard so I'm assuming its in, in some way shape or form.

seconded

Off topic, do you have a PS3, Velorien? I was under the impression you played games exclusively on PCs, but I see you mention Demon's Souls a decent bit.

It's a pretty good idea.

I play them, but
I agree i love that game the combat is impressive flawless

Demon's Souls crazy rolling around isn't made well, game allow block and parry but cost of stamina almost the same for rolling so instead of use such options in combat all rolling around and try roll behind of enemy for backstab

I agree with such feature if it will be fixed
For first dodge must burn more fatigue then block or parry,
for second weight of equipment must affect ability to dodge ( weight will alter fatigue usage for dodge) so no more constant rolling in heavy equipment so full plated knight will use his shield for block much more frequent then try to roll out, while fencers will use parry more frequently.

There is must be much more common sidestep or bob and weave then such acrobatic dodging

Eh I only used dodge to get past those fireball lighthouses and the needle traps in the old forts. Didn't like having to push 3 buttons at the same time.

And, since when is doing rolls in combat like in OB realistic?

Yeah like a faster, longer sidestep. That would actually be enough.

Not that much rolling, please :) Demon's souls combat would have been better imo and even more tactical if rolling/dodging would have cost 3,5 times as much stamina as it did. Limiting the rolling with max stamina to two-three rolls ina row and backstepping 3-4 times.

But it's a bit odd how no-one seem to be able to use the serach button...

You're right! If they couldn't do it all those years ago, they definitely should not be attempting this again! Death to the dodge!

Well, except when you hit an enemy you actually hit them, you don't need to have both thumb reflexes to hit them and high skills/luck to get pass their AC, you'll only need one of them.

i suggested this in another forum topic. i suggested they do something like in AGE OF CONAN where you double press WSAorD and your character would i guess step/leap to the sides, front, or back. i'm pretty sure they said something about you need to be more tactical and dodge attacks. this would make it much better.

but it would be better cause you cant back up like oblivion and light weight armor wont help as much so it would be better if you can dodge and its more realistic cause they dont just block you dodge to
