The End of an Era 45

"You have no idea..." Iris muttered under her breath, a soft cloud of condensed fog slipping from her lips. It was in reference to Viuven's reference to Veyar's girl troubles. Even Veyar doesn't know the extent of his women troubles. Iris grumbled in her mind, knowing she was likely right. Veyar was even more clueless than most men.

Once Adeth and Paulus had arrived, Iris pushed herself off the pillar and was about to make way for the stairs out of the temple, when Do'Rhadi appeared. She turned, looked at him curiously, and then seemed to have a revelation of thought. "Right, Do'Rhadi... I'd been wondering where you'd gone. Hopefully you won't have to use any of that technique." Iris responded, slumping her shoulders. She looked at what she had to work with.

Myself. Adeth, an incompetent fighter and thief. Paulus, a warrior forester, stealthy as a bear likely. Do'Rhadi, who might be a competent fighter and sneak, but likely just fighter. And Viuven, who's likely to be an excellent sneak. Well... a bit large for a spying party, actually. But that can be put to our benefit...

"Captain Steffan told us we have a Runestone between here and Bruma, and that is where they have been seen frequently. We are to consider them armed and dangerous, and there is two of them; maybe more. We are going to try to prevent a fight, but if it comes down to it, make it quick and decisive; that armor is tough, and it has few kinks. Adeth has gotten us some rope; we'll be trying to incapacitate and capture them with it." Iris motioned to Adeth as she mentioned the rope.

"Once we have the runestone area secure, we have to interrogate them, and then visit Bruma. We knows how many spies they may have stationed there. When we are in Bruma we'll divide and conquer, so to speak, cover as much ground as we can. Depending on how things go, I'll tell you when we reach Bruma how we'll be splitting up." Iris' eyes roved her 'men', examining them. She'd be in charge of them... their actions, their fates, no longer their responsibility. She'd maybe led one or two people before, but never this many.

She just hoped she was doing it well so far.

"If there are no objections, let's head out." Iris finished, and began for the large gates of Cloud Ruler Temple.
-------------------------------------
Mia was smiling all the while as Vivian spoke until his last sentence.

"It's what you are that worries me."

"What i am.." Mia said, and she sighed. "I wish that i never found any of this out.. I am still confused about what i am supposed to be thinking. I am me.. but am also her." She said quietly referring to her memories of being a healer, and being what she truly was.

"It worries me as well.. because the others will find out.. Jauffre lnow that i know what i am now, so he may already be preparing to make sure i don't do anything. Everyone will think im some kind of monster.. I mean i am the last person they would have expected and after what happened in that gate.. having them realise that it was me is going to have them try to kill me for the deaths of our friends.."

As Mia said this her hands started shaking a little. Vivian had caused to to think about everything that might happen, making her once happy mood dwindle down to a little flicker. "I.. I just want to have one very good evening before everything goes bad.."

Mia looked Vivian in the eye almost pleading. "You can join the others when they find out if that is what you want.. but please..I just want to know what its like.. to have this for the last time.."

Vivian frowned, watching Mia's mood plummet like it was. Reaching across the table, he took her shaking hands in his and held them gently.

"I just want you to know that if I am nervous, it is not necessarily because of what... or who you are.." Vivian spoke slowly, trying to pick words that might get the point across but still improve her mood. "My father... he died to seductive prosttutes. So... I am naturally unnerved and uneasy by women in general. Iris has really been the only one I have truly trusted. I'm trying to get over the past, but it isn't easy." His thumb moved slowly, up, down, up, down, caressing her hand.

"We all need one very good evening, not just you." Vivian cracked a hesitant smile, and nodded a curt thanks as the innkeeper delivered the Cyrodiilic brandy and two glasses.

Mia looked back up as Vivian spoke, and then down at his hands as the held hers, with one caressing one of her own. As she heard Vivian explain himself, she looked back up at him and into his eyes. "I know that its difficult for you to try and trust me.. but if it wasn't for the cultist cave.. you or anyone including me wouldn't even know.."

Mia sighed and, tried to smile. "Yes.. we both need this.. but i just.. don't want this to the be the last time.." the Healer said quietly as the brandy came and she took the bottle and poured it into the glasses. She held her glass up. "To a good night" she said as a toast, and smiled again.

Viuven listened carefully to Iris' summation of their assignment. He didn't think that the Mythic Dawn agents would pose much of a problem. Not nearly so much as Iris seemed to imply that they would. Although they would likely be ready for a fight, Viuven knew that they outnumbered the Mythic Dawn men two to one. Though since we're fighting to capture and they'll be fighting to kill, that puts us at a disadvantage. The Argonian thought.

Viuven's halberd clicked on the stone of the courtyard softly as he walked, holding the weapon like a staff with the blade in the air. Viuven felt as if he should talk strategy with Iris. In his old unit, Viuven was frequently one of the ones who came up with the battle plans. Although they were almost unilaterally obvious and never rarely got more complicated than 'you attack from there and I will attack from here', Viuven believed that he was a decent tactician. Truth be told though...my plan for this battle is 'you attack from the right, I will attack from the left'. Iris probably can think of a plan like that. She seems smart.

The one thing that lingered at the back of Viuven's mind was what Do'rhadi had said. The Khajiit had said "Sorry for being late! Was just working on my technique with Zant", and he had sounded rather... 'joyous' when he said it. Do'rhadi had certainly been smiling as he said it, and Viuven had talked with Ukawei in his old unit enough about 'technique' to know that it was a euphemism commonly used to refer to sixual techniques. Viuven glanced at Do'rhadi, placing the Khajiit in a new light as he thought about his meeting with Zan'Tarre earlier. So the two Khajiit men are lovers. He thought, Well... more power to them if they practice it openly.

OOC: seems your all waiting on me, though i still dont have much to post in current situation, will do my best though.

IC:

After a while of rummaging through a back of stolen and illegal goods Jet paused and peered around, Adeth had gone without him realizing and the two in front of him were talking about going to bed. It certainly seemed odd to Jet almost as if it was all a joke to make him nervous, at first everyones eyes were on him but now they all were returning to thier duties and posts. A feeling of imense sillyness washed over him as he remained knelt on the floor in the middle of the room.

Damnit... I should just get this over with, they obviously dot seem that serious... he thought to himself with a frown. I'll just try bribing them and get out of here... then i'll find Adeth and kick him hard in the.... hehehehe

"Here how bout this? Seem suited to someone like you?" Jet asked as he stood, holding out a rather convincing looking Daedric dagger he had just drawn from his bag. "This should more than cover a fine." Unbeknown to him its most likely a replica, as far as i can tell he thought as he let out a small one sided grin.

OOC: ill let one of you two decide if it is.

Adeth nodded and bowed his head as Iris motioned to him. 'I won't let you down.' He said simply and more like a subordinate than a leader. After they started to move Adeth fell in with Viuven. 'So, how do you like being a part of the group this far?' He asked Viuven out of friendly curiosity.

Adeth was actually imagining how the mission would go. They would arrive at a huge stone pillar surrounded by other broken pillars of smaller size. Two innocent looking men would be standing there appearing as worshippers of the nine but once they saw the group they would summon up all of Mehrunes's might and... and first they would shoot a...a gigantic fire ball at Iris and she would get killed, him being closest to her and witnessing the horror.

Adeth shuddered strongly. He tried to keep that fear out of his face which made his face appear more as some funny sculpture rather than a rock. Didn't much suit him, not with his teeth put together and his lips a thin line. He was bad at holding his fears inside.

Tim decided it was high time to stop drinking, his stomach felt like it was jumping loops inside of him, and the world felt like it was spinning in every direction but the one it was meant to. "Oooohhh..." He moaned as he attempted to stand up, "I uhh..ish beeen goood oolav, yesh, olav, very good." He stated, raising his hand in the air as if to praise the man. Olav simply smirked and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't you go fainting on my floor mate, up the stairs with you!" He called out remembering Tim had a room booked in for him.

Tim mearly giggled, "Pffffft, me? faint? Hah!" He stated but quickly wiped his smirk off his face when he nearly fell to the floor. "Ok.. One schtep at a time!"

Veyar Nydelvu
Cloud Ruler Temple great hall

Veyar arched a brow as Jet offered a Daedric dagger to cover the fine he'd made up. The Dunmer almost laughed at how little use he'd have for such a weapon, but tried not to let it show through. Instead, his lips twisted in an amused smile. Although he would have little use for it, he also knew that Karstine was an avid All-Things-Daedra buff, and would likely want the dagger.

Provided it was real.

Marketing fake Daedric and Dwemer artifacts was a crime in Morrowind, but Veyar didn't have the expertise to tell this one from the real deal, even if it were fake. Again, Veyar had to remind himself that he was not in Morrowind, and that he had no real legal authority in Cyrodiil. "Karst, do you want the dagger?" Veyar asked her, nodding once at Jet.

Viuven-Ru
En-route to Runestones outside Bruma

Viuven shrugged lightly as he walked alongside Adeth. He turned his head once or twice to look at the man from beneath the cowl of his robe. Although Viuven thought that there was something agitating Adeth, he didn't know what it was, or the extent to which Adeth was really feeling fear. "Be it different than other unit." Viuven replied, "Not know of this time yet everybody, but seems angst of romance echoes across softskins of the matter not where they are."

Viuven peered once again at Adeth, his crimson eyes regarding him in the shadows. He keeps looking at Iris. I wonder if he has a thing for her. He seems a bit frightened, and keeps looking at her. He must be concerned for her. Hmph, seems Do'rhadi and Zan'tarre aren't the only lovebirds around here. Viuven sighed, looking back on the road ahead. An aching emptiness filled his heart, and that ache bore only one name; Jordanna. His betrothed was in another unit of Blades from him now. For a moment, Viuven considered writing Jordanna a letter once they returned from this task, but he thought against it. His written grammar was just as terrible as it was spoken.

(Got to love Viuven's deducation ^^)

A tiny shadow of sadness moved over Adeth's face as Viuven reminded him about all the love things happening inside the group. So we are that transparent to outsiders, eh? He though cynically. 'You'll get used to it.' He said in an encouraging tone. 'But hope you wont be tangled into any. We're quite a mixed group I'd say.' He told the argonian truthfully, not acknowledging how Viuven looked at him at times.

'Too much has happened in a matter of weeks, if you ask me.' Adeth began. 'Finding myself one day in a prison and being told to follow the emperor and a few of the blades through a maze of sewers below the city and hearing Im free.' He said with a faint smile on his face. He had actually thought he was set free under the condition of keeping silent. But instead he was given the burden of getting a simple amulet to Jauffre. 'I saw the emperor die, I was right there. He gave me a mission which was more like a last wish.' His voice wavered slightly.

'I think he actually knew he was dying.' Adeth said in a puzzled tone. 'Too much happened after I got out of prison.' He said while looking up at the evening sky. 'Too much death. Makes me wish I was still sitting in a corner of my cell, listening to a grumpy dark elf all day. His harsh insults were better than all this put together. But what can I do when Im the one who is actually supposed to be relied on?' He sighed. 'It's my duty and I will do all I can to fullfill it.' Adeth swore.

He fell silent for a moment and then looked at Viuven again and not just too sideways but almost fully turned. 'Promise me you won't get yourself killed. Ok?'

OOC: Time to squeeze out inspiration once again. Hate to say it folks, but expect my posting in the coming fighting to be slow. We'll be a while. :\

IC: Vivian smiled as well, lifting his glass to hers and bringing them together with a soft ting. When the glasses parted he sipped at his, the burning brandy going down his throat slowly.

The Cyrodiilic alcohols had come to replace the Morrowind brands in his palette, for once he'd moved to Cyrodiil it was pretty much all he had available to him. It had taken a good many years to forget the taste of the drinks of home, and take a liking to those of Imperials, but he'd adapted well enough. Enough, in fact, to forget the tastes of his homeland brews completely. He contemplated on this for a time, before his glass clinked on the table, set down. The soft sound made him come back to reality, and look at Mia.

Now what... Vivian wondered, looking at her silently.
-------------------
Iris led the group down the cobblestone path, her sandals tapping on the stone and crunching on the more layered patches of snow between the cobbles. Her skin was flickering in places, odd blips of light red that flashed into existence and out just as quickly, giving her an unnatural sparkle. Each flake of snow that drifted slowly through the night air to touch her skin was being melted by the weak flame spell that wreathed her flesh. It also made her footprints larger and sloshed.

After a few minutes time, Iris stopped, looking back at the group, at the ground, and then frowning. She hadn't anticipated the enchantment causing her to have more pronounced footprints in snow. If it does this to snow, might have to take it off if I'm infiltrating any homes. Bruma makes them rather flammable. Turning around again, she could see through the gloom of night the tall obelisk of rough stone. It made itself noticed by the radiance of the aqua blue runes etched in the stone, casting a soft ethereal light on the area.

And revealing a figure in the vicinity of that stone. The back of the figure was to her, the stone between them, and revealed what appeared to be plain brown attire. A commoner. She could hear the traces of speech, but was too far to differentiate the words. I could enhance the sound... or even try to detect their comrade... but I need to conserve my magic. The meager temporary enchantment had cut into her reserves, and she didn't know how much she might need in the future. Such petty spells could cost her.

So she'd just have to compensate. Maybe it was beneficial she had such a large force with her.

Turning back to her men, she walked over to the cobblestone road once more, looking briefly over her shoulder. With a single finger she motioned for them to follow her behind a nearby rock.

Once gathered in a place less likely to be spotted ahead of plans, she crouched and looked to her team. "I can't say for sure, but I heard speech and saw one figure around that stone. The other most be in the darkness of the night, outside of the stone's glow. Our best case is the other, or several others, is leaving, and the one is remaining. Worst case; they are expecting us."

"I'm going to try and paralyze the one figure on our approach; but I have already depleted magic and I don't want to rely on it too much. So you'll have to get to him quick, Adeth, and tie him up. If we are ambushed, we'll fight. Keep Adeth from harm so he can finish the restraining and then aide us. Do what you can to survive. Clear?"

Mia looked at Vivian as he sat there looking back at her and she couldn't help but smile. They were on thier own, with no means to interupt them from anything but their night together. As she sipped the drink, her foot unconsciously was removed from her shoe, and moved up, resting against Vivian's leg, near the middle.

"So Vivian.. what are you expecting from this night?" She asked him, as she took another sip, this time bigger than the last one.

ic: Watching Tim go, Melanarde felt like a proud mother, watching her kid go off to school for the first time. She didn't know why, after all she'd just met the kid, but the elf felt connected to the human child somehow. I've never had a sidekick before. She laughed in her head. I just hope we really can find him an archery trainer around here.. The locals seem more into axes than bow.

Shrugging, the elven mercenary opened the door and walked back inside in time to see the Imperial waking up. Xerxes had poured water on him, but it didn't seem to be doing much, so she walked over and jabbed him roughly in the ribs with her boiled leather boot. "Wake up and talk." She commanded him, "Or the next place I kick you will be further south."

Teegus chuckled softly at the Elves comment, but then became alert when the gagged and bound Imperial let out a small groan. He left his chair and crouched down beside the Imperial, and took of the rag around his mouth. He looked up at his other roommates. ''Whose idea exactly, was this?'' He asked, then tossed the rag behind him. The Imperial seemed to have finally awoken, but kept his eyes closed, Teegus grabbed his collar. ''Alright buddie, I've got some questions to ask, and your damn well going to answer them'' He growled and let go of the Imperial. ''First question: Who are you?'' The Imperial remained silent at first, then opened his eyes and turned his head slowly and looked at Teegus, the large scar across the Imperial's face caused him to move back slightly.. ''We are the beacon of hope, in this land of darkness...'' He said blandly, still keeping his gaze connected with Teegus.

Beacon of hope? Land of Darkness? What is this guy, A poet? He found himself becoming more interested in who this man was, instead of why he attacked Teegus. The Argonian leaned forward, ''Your Mythic Dawn, aren't you?''

ooc: Sorry for keeping y'all waiting for so long. Its harder then you think to come up with a 'good' Mythic Dawn dialogue.

"Promise me you won't get yourself killed. Okay?" Adeth said. Viuven arched an eyebrow slightly, then approximated a softskin smile. He wasn't sure how Adeth had became attached enough to him that he would seem distraught over Viuven's potential death. Unless Adeth to has a 'unique' perspective on relationships, as Do'rhadi and Zan'tarre do. Perhaps he's the third one in the unit, and there isn't a fourth for him to hook up with. Have I done something to make it seem like I am 'that way'? Viuven wondered.

"Of death, preference is not mine." Viuven said to Adeth, frowning as they descended the cobblestone road. His feet were wrapped in the awkward fur boots again, and Viuven found them irritating to the extreme. He much preferred his bare feet, but walking barefoot in the snow around Bruma was a sure fed way of catching his death.

Viuven watched silently as Iris snuck a bit ahead to recon the area. Momentarily, he wished he had volunteered to do it. With his innate talent with invisibility, Viuven had long since learned how to move undetected for stealthful recon or spy work. Iris wasn't gone long, though, and she had a plan.

"Assault of frontal attack?" Viuven asked Iris as he looked down at the runestone, "To circled around, of swift of foot I am well. Could from angle of otherness attack for surprise. See me not coming will the Mythic Dawn agents." To accentuate his point, Viuven closed his eyes and reached deep inside himself, grabbing a hold of the energy flowing through his blood like the reins of a carriage. Once Viuven took the split second to grab a hold of the energy, he wrapped it around himself, and without a sound Viuven disappeared from sight, completely invisible. "Attack of sneaking stealth." Viuven said softly, "Not expect it from me, the Mythic Dawn. Could find way around and attack at moment of sameness with you to the victory ensuring."

Xerxes watched the Argonian begin questioning the Imperial, still grinning from Mel's comment,he raised a finger when Teegus asked who's idea it was. Then the Imperial spouted off at the mouth about being a beacon of hope. Every half-hearted baby-killer said it was for a good causs. Xerxes just stood in the background, looking menacing.

Greg shook the Argonian's hand, who he learned was named Teegus. He shifted his attention to Melanarde briefly as she kicked the tied up man. He had no wish to take part in any interrogations. It really wasn't his thing. He walked over to the nearby wall and leaned up against it, losing himself in his own thoughts as the Argonian continued to interrogate the man. He ignored it all for the most part, at least until Teegus said something about the Mythic Dawn.

Gregory paid rapt attention after that, eager to hear what was going on. Mythic Dawn. Mythic Dawn. I feel as though I should recognize that name. Maybe something to do with Daedra? I never did pay much attention to that part of my studies. A beacon of hope in this land of darkness? I wonder if that means anything. Perhaps they see themselves as heroes or servants of the divine? Perhaps... Perhaps I'm just reading too much into the words of murderers. "Ahh, blast my forgetfulness," Gregory muttered as he continued to watch the proceedings.

Tim managed to make it up the steps to his room, it was a tretcherous journey, and he felt as if the ground was tilting in everyway save for the way it was meant to.. However, he pushed on and he finally managed to get to his room, he unlocked the door and stumbled in, he nearly tripped over a table and managed to bang his head against the wall as he went to creep into bed.

He swore in pain and heaved himself into the bedsheets, he grumbled unhappily as he got comfy in the covers, in what seemed like seconds, he was sound asleep, no idea that in the morning, his head would be splitting in several hundred ways thanks to the beauty that is a hangover.

Paulus had been silent throughout the trek down to the location of the runestones, his mind had wondered, to the arrogant Blades, to preparing himself for the fight, and on the argonions strange method of speaking. Lost in his thoughts, he had barely noticied that they had hidden behind a rock out of veiw of a single man. Iris began speaking.

"I can't say for sure, but I heard speech and saw one figure around that stone. The other most be in the darkness of the night, outside of the stone's glow. Our best case is the other, or several others, is leaving, and the one is remaining. Worst case; they are expecting us."

If we are ambushed, we'll fight. Keep Adeth from harm so he can finish the restraining and then aide us. Do what you can to survive. Clear?"

Paulus nodded in understanding. A simple hit and run operation to capture at least one spy, if worse would come to worst, then they could easily fight their way out. His limbs began to shake slightly as the pre-combat jitters struck him, and the adrenaline began to flow. His heart started to beat faster as it always did, as if trying to get as many beats out as possible befoe he died in the fight. if he died, he reminded himself.

He looked down to his belt, considering which weapon to draw. A sword was extremely effective against lightly armoured targets, slashing through cloth, leather and fur easily, yet it would take a considerable more time if the oppenet wore plate mail, which in that case the blunt dewer axe would be more effective, denting the armour and breaking bone. Shaking his head, he decdedid to go with his trusty longsword and slowly drew it from its scabbard so as not to alert the single man.

"ready when you all are."

He said.

OOC: we're still waiting for you to reply Paulakarst, ahem... Aulakauss so a short post is all i can do right now

IC:

As Jet held the strange dark and twisted blade out waiting for someone to take it he found it odd that Veyar offered it over to Karst, She did seem to be one of peculiar tastes but for her to be interested in a demonic weapon came as a bit of a surprise. Nevertheless if giving the dagger to her got him out of this mess then he would gladly do so if only to hasten him beating on Adeth a little sooner.

Where the hell did that kid get to? Gotta find out and catch up to him before someone else kills him first.

A smirk spread across his mostly hidden face as the thought crossed his mind.

"Well? You wan' it?" he said to Karst.

ooc: Welcome back, Badger!

Also, in future, please do not perpetually poke at me if I don't post for a bit. Let's just say I'm a little preoccupied in real life lately and leave it at that, but know that bugging me will do nothing to help.

ic: Karst grunted at Veyar as he suggested she go to bed. She wasn't tired at all, or at least that's what her mind was telling her. A moment later, she watched the thin man offer a dagger, which through her blurry vision it took a moment to see the true form of, but when she saw it, her eyes widened. Veyar looked down at her, asking a question to which the answer should have been obvious. "Karst, do you want the dagger?"

"Of freakin' course I do!" The now decently drunk feline cried indignantly, getting up and staggering as she took her first step. She came back to her feet in a surprisingly graceful manner and gingerly removed the dagger from Jet's grasp in a rather eccentric motion, fiddling the blade between her fingers skillfully. She'd spent a good part of seven years doing this with small bones whilst terminally bored in her prison cell, but even so, she was drunk and it didn't take long for her to mess up and cut her finger. She looked at the blood droplets forming along the small cut and blinked at it, then looked to Jet with a glare.

"It's sharp, and it's pretty, but one thing it is assuredly not is Daedric. Whoever you got this from gypped ya, assuming of course you paid for it." Karst's speech was slurred, but not in a garbled way. She just sounded a little crazy. The Khajiit gave a little grin at her last addition and handed the dagger back. "I'll see if I can find one in a Gate sometime and I'll show ya what happens when you cut yourself on real Daedric metal." She had forgotten the Dremora Shortsword in her room, but even that, as powerful as it was, was but an impure forging job given to a lower ranked Dremora. Had she taken a top grade one in the gut, chances were it would have gone through her and out the other side, likely cutting her spine and killing her. She was lucky.

In any case, though, she smiled at Jet and whispered loud enough only he could hear her. "But I'll take that skooma later." She added with a wink, before spinning on her heel elegantly and walking two steps back towards the table before tripping on her own feet and tumbling to the floor. She landed on her back, staring up at Veyar, and after she realized where she was, she grinned and started giggling stupidly. "That.. was fun!" Karst laughed, "If, uh.. you could help me up, though, that'd be swell."

Melanarde looked up as Teegus approached and demanded answers. Figuring it was more his place than hers to interrogate the man, seeing as they'd not tried to kill her, she stepped back and leaned on the wall. He began with a classic move, grabbing the subject by the collar and growling in his face.

"Alright buddie, I've got some questions to ask, and you're damn well going to answer them." Teegus didn't really seem to leave the Imperial much room for argument. "First question: Who are you?"

As he asked this, the Imperial just sat there, then slowly, he turned to look the Argonian in the eyes. There was a nasty scar across the face of the man and Mel eyed it with mild curiosity. "We are the beacon of hope, in this land of darkness.."

Melanarde found this puzzling. In fact, it was more than puzzling, it was maddening as it made no sense in and of itself. Teegus looked just as baffled for a moment, then leaned in to look at the human. "You're Mythic Dawn, aren't you?"

Mythic Dawn, Mythic Dawn.. dammit, I know I know them. The elf grumbled in her head, obsessing over solving this. Mythic Dawn.. Ugh.. No, wait. Oh, good lord, not these crackpots.

"Cultists of Mehrunes Dagon." She explained, not letting on that she had been just as stumped as the rest of them two seconds ago. She looked at the Imperial and sighed. "The hell do you lunatics want?"

At Teegus' question, Mel spoke up about the Mythic Dawn, "Cultists of Mehrunes Dagon" She explained, then sighed deeply and looked at the Imperial, "The hell do you lunatics want?". Something sprung in Teegus's mind, in the Plundered mine, his interrogation with that Dunmer. He scratched his head thoughtfully, He recalled the Dunmer saying, that they worked for the Mythic Dawn, as spies. Are they striking revenge or something? No... They came to fast...And how does he know my name? Teegus looked back at the Imperial, who seemed to be smiling and looking straight at Mel. ''It is not what we want...'' He said slowly, ''It is what the Master wants...'' He then looked back at Teegus, with an strange glare that sent chills down the Argonian's spine.

''And what reason is that?'' Teegus asked. For some reason, he felt nervous, he shrugged it off and waited for an answer. The Imperial smiled once more, as if he was enjoying himself. ''I am not at liberty to discuss such secrecy'' He said, surprisingly confident in himself. Teegus growled under his breath, he hated difficult people. He grabbed the Imperial's collar once more, ''I'm in no mood to beat the answers out of you'' He said loudly, ''Tell me what I want to know! Why do you want to kill me? How the hell do you know my name?'' His grip on the mans collar got tighter.

The Imperial studied Teegus for a few seconds before replying, slowly, ''Find your answers in the Paradise...''. At that, he closed his eyes, and remained quiet. Teegus felt anger rush through his veins, he looked down, and rubbed his eyes.

The Imperial suddenly mumbled something under his breath, Teegus looked back at him. What did he say?, The Imperials eyes were still shut tight, and wasn't moving at all. Teegus then smelt something, he looked around the room. The smell got stronger, it was like....burning wood. He looked back at the Imperial and before The Mercenary could react, the Imperial's body erupted into flames. Teegus leaped back a few feet away from the engulfed man. The fire seemed to be only on him, and didn't spread to the wooden floor or wall. Teegus was to dumbstruck to think about putting the man out, and before the thought registered in his mind, the fire vanished, leaving a small pile of ash where the Imperial used to be.

Teegus was shocked at the sudden change of events. Instead of telling him what he want, The Imperial saw death as the only alternative. When Teegus recovered, he walked over and knelt down beside the ash, and wiped a bit on his finger, the surrounding area seemed undamaged by the fire. He opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out, he didn't know what to say.

OOC: god im such a hypocrit, i bug people to post because im waiting on them, then take ages to reply myself.... in future just tell me to stick it

IC:

A fierce drunken snatch occured moments before Jet noticed, leaving his hand extended and bladless. The felines reflexes astounded him but this was shortly replaced by insult when Karst mentioned the dagger was not real Daedric. How dare she accuse me of stealing it?!

"Well if you must know... i found it on the road, just laying there." he admitted "I thought it might be worth something to someone, obviously i hadnt realised i was bound for a meeting with a Daedra expert such as yourself." he sniggered.

The anger subsided as he realised that the confrontation was ending well as far as he could see it, knowing full well that he'd be able to leave soon and beat the crap out of Adeth.

"soo... is it alright if i... you know" he nodded toward the door "...Leave?"

Iris turned to Viuven when he spoke, and watched curiously as he disappeared completely. She didn't even flinch to the left or right (the natural reaction to look around when someone goes invisible) as she could see his footprints in the soft snow, and feel the tingle of his magic. It was different. It was powerful.

It was perfect. Iris grinned.

"That was exactly what I would have done if I had the magic to do so right now, Viuven. I have a feeling I'm going to like you." She looked to Paulus and with a quick motion pointed towards the Cultist.

"Alright, warrior boys, you two charge in blatantly and do your thing. Adeth, you come in with them, Viuven, you take the East side of the runestone. He was looking that way, and with you invisible you'll be less endangered should you encounter his comrade. I'll take the west and paralyze him from the trees. Look aggressive and grab his attention folks, but don't act until he collapses. Viuven, remain on the outskirts of the runestone clearing and make sure we don't get unexpected guests." Her arms motioned in the air as she gave these instructions, general waves in where she wanted them to go. But they were not pointless motions, for with each twist of the finger her skin had gained more of an emerald sheen.

She was preparing. "Ready?"
----------------------------
Something touched his leg around mid calf. It was soft, round, and smooth. And it made every hair on his body except those on his head stand on end. It was also cold, and he felt something with an edge.

Her foot... Vivian released, and it sent a chill up his spine. For a moment he paused, uneasy, before sipping his own drink, also a bit larger sip this time, because he wasn't exactly focusing on how much he was sipping. "Um... well... I don't know... Never really been on a dinner date before." Vivian shrugged, recomposing himself as best he could.

Dammit, pull yourself together man. You're an assassin, and this woman has you feeling like you've just been caught in the kill. By Iris!

Vivian seemed to act more nervous when Mia rested her foot on his calf, and it made her giggle a little, maybe from drinking a bit too much already, or from the cuteness of the assassin's situation. Taking another sip, she placed the glass to one side, and rested her head on her hands, looking at Vivian again, and placing her foot back down on the ground.

"You are so cute when you are nervous" she said and smiled, looking up to see their dinner coming towards them. "And don't worry, with me I think you might learn a few things" she said hearing what he had to say, and knowing that this was probably the first time he actually spent with a woman in a setting like this.

Viuven-Ru
Ancient Runestones outside Bruma

Viuven nodded and circled around quietly, completely invisible. He felt the inky shroud clinging to his clothes, his scales, weighing like a gently tug on the very blood that coursed through his veins. Viuven saw only two of the Mythic Dawn men, if they were indeed Mythic Dawn. The intel suggested that they would be, and at this hour and in this weather Viuven doubted any random civilian would be out to the ancient runestone.

He was not even sure why the Runestone was there, or what it was. It seemed to glow with the symbols of the Cyrodiilian stars on it, but the shapes and alignments held no meaning for Viuven. The Argonian had been raised on the stars of Black Marsh, which had some similar alignments, but many different ones. Our gods and the softskin gods are not the same, yet are the same. It is confusing at best, and downright painful to try to contemplate at worst.

It was doubtful that the Mythic Dawn spies were contemplating their gods or the signs in the heavens as they stood by the Runestone. More likely this was to be a meeting place, Viuven figured, so that they might meet somebody in private. Hmph, it might do to find out who it is that they are supposed to be meeting. Viuven thought. It would be a moot point soon enough, though.

Viuven walked up as silent as a wraith towards to two spies, approaching from the East. Although the north would have been a better vantage for him, Viuven stuck to the path Iris provided him. He didn't want to idly walk into the path of one of their magick spells. Viuven approached quietly, waiting for everybody to get into position. He couldn't see them from where he was, so Viuven gave them a few minutes to get ready. When he thought they would be prepared, Viuven took the initiative.

A silent puff of black smoke was the only sign that accompanied Viuven's appearance behind the Mythic Dawn spy. His leg arced up in a high kick that landed square between the softskin's shoulder blades. The only sound, the brief rustle of cloth and the spy's cry of pain and alarm as he fell face-first into the snow. Viuven ducked as the second man swung, and the Argonian jumped backwards, reaching for Herlief. In a flash of amber light, the Mythic Dawn spy summoned his unholy armor.

As Viuven took a few steps back, he twirled his weapon once. The halberd's staff slapped against the first spy's skull with a sickening thud, rendering him past the point of dazed confusion and into unconsciousness as the Argonian backed away from the fully armed and armored spy. Now would be a good time... Viuven thought, hissing as he bore his fangs at the foe.

Veyar Nydelvu
Cloud Ruler Temple

Veyar shook his head, smirking as Karst pointed out the quality of the 'replica' the man Jet had provided. Although Veyar honestly could not tell the difference, he was not surprised that Karstine could. She was expert in all things Daedra, it seemed. Jet seemed thoroughly chastised, and Veyar decided that it was time enough that the man had a little respite before Karst decided to show him the short sword she looted from a Dremora.

"Yes, I think it would be best if you ran along." Veyar said to Jet, "However, you will find my boots outside my room this evening, and I expect them to be cleaned and polished by early tomorrow morn, if you hope to pass off your crimes." Veyar smiled at Jet, crossing his arms over his chest, "I'm sure I don't have to tell you what will happen if you disobey an officer of the law."

Although Veyar had no legal authority in Cyrodiil and he had no intention of trusting this thief with his boots overnight, he enjoyed watching the man squirm. Especially after he has the gall to stalk us. He deserves some kind of punishment for that.

Karst spun on her heel as she turned abruptly. Her feet gave way, and with a light thud she landed flat on the floor. Veyar was not close enough to try and catch her, nor did he try. She had nobody but herself to blame for her drunkenness, he decided. The thought that he was the one to buy her a drink at Olav's bar and then give her some sujamma in the first place did not have any bearing on Veyar's thoughts.

"Are you having fun down there?" Veyar asked her with a slight laugh, "Or would you like a hand up?" The Dunmer offered a hand, extended down towards Karst.

(I hate it when I have likeness to Korrodead... I got an excuse though. lazyness, confusion and... VACATION!!!)

Adeth nodded and understood what Iris said. Atleast in his mind. He would go with Paulus and Do'Rhadi and when Iris got the one in sight paralyzed he would have his chance of tangling the man and taking him as a prisoner. 'Im ready.' He announced and started to circle around to the east with soft, careful steps. He moved from tree to tree and a moment later he was almost in his position, not sure of Paulus nor Do'rhadi.

Adeth had stopped to observe the man at the stone, silently and waiting for the others. It was actually a bit surprising how easily he had gotten to where he was, it was just the ease and the state of his mind. He was concentrated on the mission and nothing else.

(crap post... My fingers are frozen. Was in the middle of nowhere making sausages and kettle coffee. :P And fishing from a hole in ice. next thread in a few hours :) )
