Apotheosis of the Slave Queen?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:46 pm

I read a book in-game, that mentioned the apotheosis of Alessia. The fact that Alessia ascended was entirely unknown to me (as well as anything that transpired after the basic Alessia gibberish), and this fact got me wondering what else I don't know about her.

Anyone know the details of her ascension? What she is now or became?

Thanks in advance!

I'm confident she became the Amulet of Kings. I haven't looked a lot into it, but I'm sure others will elaborate

Alessia became the Oversoul, which is the main jewel in the Chim-el Adabal (Amulet of Kings). She is the Mother of Heaven and the Stars. She may, in all honesty, be the most important deity mythopoeically in the TES mythos.

I wouldn't go that far. Her importance is mostly based in Cyordill, though after the destruction of Red Tower her sphere of importance has encompassed all of Nirn.

Essentially Alessia is a myth-echo of Nirn. Well, Cyrodill is a myth-echo of the entirety of Nirn, and since Alessia is the primary benefactor of Cyrodill, I guess that DOES make her a myth-echo of Nirn itself.

She lead men to revolt over the Ayleids, and so the Eight suddenly decided to come and invite her to their party? Is Allesia a god from myth purely? Or a god from power, like the Tribunal and Talos?

She's the female principle, a myth-echo of Nirn (which is so essential to the Enantiomorph), whereas Nirn in herself is already split up into the fractions we know as Mara, Kyne and Dibella.

I see, so let me get this straight, all the talk about Alessia being handed the Amulet of Kings from Akatosh is just ignorant perception from common inhabitants of Cyrodiil?

And if she is such an emportant deity, why isn't she worshipped like other deities? (I'm talking large scale here)

No. A mortal woman (whom we might as well call 'Alessia') really was gifted with the Chim-el Adabal by Akatosh/Lorkhan/Pelinal-Who-Is-Both. Alessia was both a mortal woman who led a slave rebellion and an aspect or avatar of the Over-Goddess Nirni. Just as Talos/Hjalti was a mortal Breto-Nordic general who rebelled against Cuhlecain and a mage named Zurin Arctus who betrayed or was betrayed by Talos and an avatar or aspect of Lorkhan named Wulfharth/Ysmir and part of the Enantiomorph known to the world as 'Tiber Septim'. Just as Vivec was both a god who had existed forever and a mortal who stole godhood by betraying and murdering his lord and an aspect or avatar of Mephala and a fictional cration of MK and an independent, self-aware being capable of writing a 'happy birthday' poem to his own creator.

I hope that clears up your confusion. :)
