I don't think they should remake Morrowind but I would like to see a new elderscrolls game with the same level of complexities. More skills,
The perks make it so that each skill in Skyrim is actually a tree of potential as opposed to the linear progression of what skills give you like in Morrowind or Oblivion. Fewer skills doesn't necessarily mean less complexity.
status with one guild changes how other guilds view your char,
Seeing as Oblivion had this, I think it's pretty likely Skyrim will have it as well.
build in transportation system like boats and silt striders and no fast travel except for spells like mark/recall.
Such a fast travel system is already confirmed. As for other forms of fast travel, just don't use them. If the temptation is still too great, get rid of it by disabling fast travel in the game's .ini file.
I also liked how Morrowind did not have any real animals, everything was mystical, there were no bears, lions, wolves.
Morrowind's whole thing in the lore is that walking into Morrowind is like walking into a different world. Skyrim isn't quite as much going for that, although it will still have tons of creatures that aren't in the real world. They're going to have mammoths and saber-tooth tigers, which fits the theme of the game rather well. Morrowind shot for an alien theme and succeeded, whereas Skryim is shooting for more of an epic Viking-esque feel. It's not dumbed down, it's just different.
I liked Oblivion but in my mind it failed by having animals instead of all make believe creatures.
Once again, Morrowind shot for an entirely different feel than Oblivion did. Oblivion was trying to be more approachable and generic, while Morrowind was supposed to be more alien. While I prefer Morrowind's approach, I don't think it works well in all cases. We certainly don't need clones of it in terms of feel. I'd prefer for each game to have its own vibe (although hopefully Skyrim will have more character than Oblivion). I agree that Oblivion felt a bit too bland, but it didn't have anything to do with it using real creatures and common fairy tale ones.
I would also like to see a much more varied texture base so all interiors of the same type don't have the same general feel. Once you go in one cave/dungeon/house you basically know what the walls in all the others will look like pretty much.
Seeing as they're hiring eight dungeon designers, I think the dungeons will have even more diversity than Morrowind's. Trust me, this will not be one of Skyrim's problems.
