Hlaalu Councilors...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:28 am

For a story I am writing, I will need all of the Councilors of House Hlaalu. Here is a list I have compiled:

Councilors: Velanda Omani, Dram Bero, Crassius Curio, Yngling Half-Troll, Nevena Ules.

High Councilor (leader): King Hlaalu Athyn Llethan

You've covered everybody from the Yellow Book, so that's them all on Vvardenfell...

Well, it depends on when your story takes place.

If it's set during or after Oblivion or at anytime between Morrowind and Tribunal, you're going to have to take into account that King Hlaalu Athyn Llethan is deadsies.

It is during Morrowind. But are you sure Llethan is dead? I found this on Wiki:

"Council Affairs of Note

King Hlaalu Athyn Llethan, High Councilor and Lord of Morrowind, grants relief to merchants complaining of high tariffs on imported alcoholic beverages.

The council is pleased to report a reduction in the incidence of theft and violent crime in the Hlaalu House Districts, thanks to the vigilance of the Legions and stern sentences by the magistrates. The council laments the unfortunate disturbances of the public peace resulting from the increasingly aggressive competition between the Thieves Guild and the Camonna Tong for control of the black markets.

A minor tax revolt in Balmora was suppressed without undue harm to life and property. The council sent deputations to the Duke to express their concerns over the high tax rates and the injurious effect of high tariffs on trade."

How can he be dead?

Unfortunately, we don't know any of the Mainland Hlaalu except King Hlaalu Helseth. And they are likely to be higher ranking as they live in the Hlaalu heartland opposed to podunk nowhere like Vvardenfell.

Edit: Llethan is definately dead. That is half the plot of Tribunal was everyone accusing Helseth of murdering him.

Llethan was poisoned soon after the Nerevarine arrived, but there's no reason to have it take place in 430, as opposed to 429, 428, whatever.

Which is why I made it a point to ask when your (redsrock's) story takes place. But seeing as you've said Morrowind, and not around the timeline of Tribunal... Llethan is still alive.

And I will do just that.

Thanks, everyone.

EDIT: Nevermind, no I won't. I'll just have Helseth as King. It doesn't matter either way I suppose.

And Duke Vedam Dren is also a Hlaalu.

He was the Hlaalu Gradmaster before he became the duke.

So he too is still part of The House?

Also, the CS lists him as Grandmaster of House Hlaalu.

And as Curio said:
I can't advance you any more, dumpling. You'll need to see Duke Vedam Dren himself to be a Councilor or even Grandmaster. The Duke is staying in Ebonheart this year. He was the Grandmaster of House Hlaalu, you know, before he inherited his title.

But Helseth still leads ovverall, correct?

EDIT: Also, it says he WAS Gradmaaster of The House. I wouldn't say he is anymore. Isn't he representation for the Empire?

Helseth is of House Hlaalu.

I'm not sure what his position is in the house, but Helseth being king and all he is probably the most powerful Hlaalu around.

And Vedam Dren is still a member of Hlaalu as I recall. He is the only one who can name the player Hlaalu councilor or grandmaster.

The leader of House Hlaalu is the King of Morrowind. It's the same way the romans used client kings by simply allowing the existing monarchies to rule in thier stead.

Helseth and Dren are related I'd say.

Helseth is no doubt of Hlaalu, but being King, I believe it puts him personally above all the houses. They theoretically have to follow what he says (but according to the rumors in Oblivion, they sometimes don't)

I believe that the King is the head of Morrowind's Grand Council. Vvardenfell also has a Grand Council, but I'd guess it's lower on the totem pole than the one for Morrowind.
