Battlespire Tips

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:58 pm

So I just managed to get my hands on "The Elder Scrolls Legends: Battlespire" and would like to ask few questions:

1. Why can't my character use Mithril Longblade? I made a custom class that allows him to use long blades but the game says I am not allowed to do so. Do I need a certain level of Long Blade skill?
2. Will I be able to learn new spells through the game or am I stuck with what I have?
3. Any tips you could give for creating a custom class that specializes in destruction, restoration and longblades. Which skills and attributes should I avoid and which should be a thing to have?

1.) Make sure that mithiril isn't a forbidden material for him to use, or that his strength is high enough
2.) Yes, there will be scrolls
3.)I always melee centric in Battlespire, so I can't give much help here.

Then strength must be the reason for my troubles with it. I never tought that you need to have great strength to rise a Mithril Blade.

You an post tips on him here. My char seeks to be a meelee battlemage so such tips are usable. In fact, even ranger tips are usable because I'll better understand the advantages and disadvantages of certain choices.

I'm not sure about the requirements, but a blade itself takes a certain amount of strength, I also may be missing something entirely.

As for how I play - I take the 'Knight' and customize it, critical weakness to most things, forbidden on staves, give myself health/mana regen and fast healing as well as as many points into multiplying mana points.

This way I can have a character that heals themselves, quickly and is able to regenerate those points of mana when needed on the fly. Leaves a lot of dodging for magic though, because of the huge weaknesses.

1) Sometimes I had the problem that I was unable to equip a sword I used minutes before. To fix this problem unequip all items, save and load and after that you can use whatever you want to use.
2) You should better learn all the spells you want to have because you rarely find scrolls and most of them lategame.
3) Longblade, Destruction and Restauration should be your main skills, dodging, critical strike, Thaumaturgy, running, swimming and jumping are also important skills. Get spell reflection and never forget to get some points in Thaumaturgy or you will fail later on. The other magic skills are unimportant, you'll never use spells of their kind.
You also should get the advantages "increased magery 3x" "Regenerate spellpoints" and "athleticism and as disadvantages "forbidden weapons: missile, short blade, blunt and axe" aswell as "critical weakness: poison". That would do the trick but beware, every character is weak in the first level so don't think you created a bad class.

Have fun!

edit: you also can, as Warlock said, get critical weakness to all elements because spell reflection will prevent you from any damage.
