My laptop has pg up and pg down on its own numpad, but the game does not recognize that input. How can I change it/alternative methods? Thanks.

Wow DF has exceeded my expectations. There is a view-based control mode. Wow. But I can't figure out how to use things in view mode. Oh, you press spacebar..

there's a certain thing you can mess with the DF's z.cfg that'll fix your keys to be mouse look by default. can't remember what it was though. :s

EDIT: I'm running DF on a laptop too, the newer config is good with little to no tweaking. But my laptop has the insert-pgdn keys seperate already.

The controls inside Daggerfall may be the best solution. Just get the game running, then hit escape, then select controls, and use the page that displays to remap the keyboard to ones that you like, that are handy and recognizable on your laptop.

I got it all working now . I changed the keys. I just can't get over how fricking amazing DF is. Oblivion was.. so-so. Morrowind was good, I couldn't get into Arena and DF is blowing me away. I have only done one quest and have been raiding tombs. But it is so deep.

Still, I can't figure out how to climb down things. I can climb up stuff, but I just have to jump and get hurt most of the time.

Slowfall is your best bet. Other than that, rack up your jumping skill. :shrug:
