Melting Snow

So, I just watched the IGN rewind of the gameplay trailer... In it, the two morons persons stated that snow will actually melt in-game due to fire on the ground and that fire can light stuff... on fire?
Could this be true? If so, what stops us from burning Skyrim to the ground in one day due to mass forest fires?
NB: they also made some wild assumptions and stated some stuff not yet confirmed, so they might just be talking bs. Also, they mistook the cinematics for actual gameplay.

The trailer was actually mostly gameplay, just at different camera angles. Everything you saw of the Dragonborn fighting the dragon, you'll do in game (besides looking up from a kneeling position with a determined look in your face.) Remember, they've been working on dragons for 2 years. And when you absorb the soul of the dragon, it literally looks the exact same as it does in the trailer, which has been confirmed.

*AHEM* Now then, yes fire will effect the environment, but not permanetly.
