Describe your first Skyrim character

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:03 am

We all know that Attributes and Birthsigns have been dropped, in order to stop the player from having to define their character at the very beginning of the game. This is fine, but I know that a lot of you guys will still have a very good idea going in just what kind of character you hope to create. We don't have Attributes and Birthsigns anymore, or even, as far as I am aware, decisions about which skills to specialise in at the start of the game, but there are still some things that we can decide upon at the outset. Indeed, much like a child's anticipation of Christmas, I believe that much of the fun that is to be had concerning epic games like Skyrim is fantasising beforehand about what kind of character we will create to inhabit the world that Bethesda are making. This poll is designed to ascertain numbers with regards to the most common kinds of characters that the community at large will be creating. Prediction: lots of melee-using male Nords who are wrongly-convicted good guys! ;)

My first Skyrim character: A female High Elf named Velouria. Velouria is a scumball: a sick, twisted and depraved sociopath who scorches her opponents with high-level fire spells. After being found guilty of having slaughtered half of the Wood Elves in Skyrim, she was summarily sentenced to death.

Your turn!

I shall design mine to look like either: Chuck norris, Bruce Lee, Jesus, or Duke Nukem.
Or, if they really have a good creation editor, then i'd create a non-mainstream character that I like.

i will either make a male imperial, dunmer, or kajhiit. if they got a hairstyle like CRIXUS from spartacus then i'm def going for that!
i also chose being a hero :)
i chose axes and maces for my weapons because i like them much better, and if i decide to dual wield (i usually 2h) i will have 1axe and 1mace :)
my guy's gonna be a BAMF!

oh, and i will be in jail for "being framed" and "it was just a big misunderstanding!" :)

I think I'm going to mix things up and be an Altmer or Bosmer for once, just to see how good of a job Bethesda did with the extreme Nord-Elf hatred.

My 1st character will be a Female Imperial or Breton (If the Bretons are ugly I'll go Imperial) by the name of Sophia Lockheart. She was charged with murder because she was screwed out of a deal which cost her a lot of septims. Thus she got her revenge against the person who arranged the deal and the person who was suppose to get the item that she was suppose to trade (The Item was skooma and the amount was in the dozens). She got the money that she originally agreed to in the deal but the Imperial Guard had other ideas when she was arrested for Murder and dealing Skooma. She was suppose to be sentenced in Skyrim because that's where she was arrested when she tried to escape from Cyrodill.

Sophia is a Warrior Mage with some skill in Archery, her personallity is neutral but she is an opportunist so if you leave the door unlocked and she sees that you've left for a couple hours expect your valuables to be stolen. She does not like High Elves, it's not racism but she just has suspicions about their magic. She will one day get back the 50,000 septims that she was screwed out of by the Imperial Guard but she has bigger fish or should I say Dragons to fry.

Male
Dunmer or maybe Khajiit
Nice sort I guess - careful and somewhat cowardly but good natured
Weapons will depend, probably a bit of a jack w/bow, light melee weapon, magic. If certain weapons end up really awesome or fun to use...
Sentenced to death for uh... subversive political views (I've heard there's conflict between Nord and Dunmer so I'm going with this). Theft or drug use if khajiit.

I'm always the noble hero when I play a warrior. I hope the NPCs in Skyrim will react to my noble deeds. In Oblivion, everyone hated Nords and I played as a Nord Warrior. The NPCs should realize that Nords can be good and noble.

My Dunmer's family fought to abolish slavery in Morrowind for centuries, but when the Argonians took over the land they showed no mercy. They slaughtered his mother father, and sister, only he and his younger brother got away. They escaped to Cyrodill, And lived in a refugee camp not too far from the border.

Much time has passed since then, and the brother's have found jobs and lives. My Dunmer's brother went to Skyrim on Business (as a pretty successful merchant), and he hasn't come back for months. My dunmer journeys to find him and just inside the border of Skyrim my Dunmer find's what's left of what is likely to be his brother's dunmer skeleton on the road, next to an overturned merchant wagon... A poor Argonian begger is looking for any goods in the wagon. Traumatized from his experience when he was a kid, and somewhat hysterical from his brother's apparent death my Dunmer cuts the Argonians head off with a swift blow to it's neck. A guard see's him as he continuously stabs the dead argonian, and he quickly arrests me. [begin game]

My character isn't evil, but he isn't good either. He has an understandable and deep hatered for argonains, that he may or may not overcome...

Male Imperial
Kinda looks like a mix of Chuck Norris, Dumbledore, and dwarf from LOR.
Tall and wearing grey robes when not attacking- imperial armor when being attacked
Wielding a staff of lightning and a longsword
Blue eyes
Grey-brown hair
Don't know the name yet... Something that is only related to medieval or biblical like Joseph or john

Redguard has zero votes even though they have kick ass racials

Raaaaciiiiiist :intergalactic:
OT: Male, Bosmer (Wood Elf) Primarily a bow user, Imprisoned for trying to steal a nobles prize cow.

I like the Redguards, but I want to play a mage first. Perhaps I'll play a Redguard spellsword or dual-wielder second.

I mainly played as an orc in oblivion, but will probably create a nord character first for skyrim, he will be a master of heavy armor and blunt weapons!

Nifty idea for a thread! I'll reply first and then sift through other people's ideas (looking forward to seeing what you guys have planned).

I selected:

Male Redguard, "nice sort", arrested for subversive political views. Weapon preference: swords (right hand) frost or lightning spells (left hand).

Appearance: he'll be half-Breton and half-Redguard, so I'll make his skintone tannish (he'll look rather like someone from the Maghreb), with hazel eyes and sand-colored hair (possibly buzzed, definitely shorter than shoulder-length... haven't decided yet).

Background:

A member of the Redguard nobility, Jaurès Bazzi is the son of a Redguard father and a Breton mother. Raised in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Hammerfell#Dragonstar (a town which has historically been embroiled in disputes with Skyrim), he is the youngest son of the Bazzi family. Always generous and well-intentioned, but often na?ve; used to being pampered but excited by challenges. A charming and charismatic young man, Jaurès is equally capable of winning over his opponents through discourse, or with less peaceful means.

Jaurès left home at his father's behest with the intention of exploiting the recent political chaos in Skyrim and increasing his family's influence in the region, Jaurès was apprehended by Skyrim's authorities and charged with espionage (which is why I marked "subversive political views" :ninja: ). An opportunistic noble who was caught in the act Jaurès may be, but he's no fool: given that his original plans failed, perhaps he can curry favor with the Nordic royal houses through less subversive means...And this is where the game begins.

He embodies his mixed lineage in numerous ways: he's a battlemage with a penchant for sword-based combat and light armor, and he also employs Destruction magic.

I was planning on playing a full-blooded Breton originally, but the more I read about the Redguard the more awesome I think they are. The prospect of roleplaying a character who's half-Breton, half-Redguard (as reflected by his name) and who's culturally a Redguard really excites me, and justifying his presence in Skyrim is quite easy given that the town of Dragonstar has been embroiled in Skyrim's politics for hundreds of years. That, and it's called "Dragonstar". Nice place for someone who's Dragonborn to be born, eh?
