Different Light Sources

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:57 am

I don't just want one type of light source because it just gets a bit boring sometimes.
So I have giving you some different light sources to choose between, please vote and discuss this issue.
If you Chose Other Please State...

A lantern would be cool, just walk around with it like in Amnesia. You would need to buy oil for it, it would burn about the same rate as the torch, but, it shines brighter.

I hope that you can drop your torch on the ground during fights, like in Risen. When you drew your weapon you would drop your torch, when the battle was over you would pick it up and it would be automatically reequipped.

The Adoring Fan

The adoring fan lights up any hero's life.

I checked all except glow stick, unless you meant candle? I also selected other for candles.

I chose the gem-in-staff thing, but it would be awesome to have a torch that you could also fight with.

I think it would be cool if there was a spell for mages (or other classes, If they learned it) to summon a glowing creature. 2 or 3 little flying dots that follow you with good pace and will light up an acceptable amount of area. Like fireflies but more powerful.

To summon a glowing creature would be good, when I first read that comment I thought of a glowing E.T type creature :S haha but I yeah I get you, like a will-o-wisp or whatever they are called :D

I voted torch and lantern, and there usually is a light spell. If there's no lanterns in Skyrim I'll definitely make a lantern mod. I did one for Oblivion but never released it because I had a few problems with the model. For Skyrim though I'll make sure to complete it. If it's not included...

Providing you set him alight with a fire spell first... ;)

Lanterns! Candles! I've already made a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1181730-the-glorious-return-of-lanterns/page__p__17513651#entry17513651 in defense of these marvelous items here. Support the cause! :hehe:

Anyway, I'd love illumination spells that are cast to a specific target and not simply hovering over the player. The "light staff" in the Skyrim trailer seems to support the existence of these - although for all we know, it was simply an ice/shock spell being fired down an empty cavern for no reason whatsoever.
