No indication of anything. The previous FO titles did the same thing.
Indeed, fans need to realize that Fallout and the Elder Scrolls are different games, and trends that seem to be in one game won't necessarily carry over into the other. When we see what Bethesda will be doing for future Elder Scrolls games, then we can start guessing what direction the series will go in.
In any case, I don't know what Bethesda will do in this area, but I hope they go back to something like the Morrowind system, the clothes under armor thing doesn't neccessarily need to be kept if Bethesda is afraid it will unbalance the game as you really won't be seeing them when they're covered by armor anyway. What I want most is to have more clothing and armor slots, I want pauldrons separate from the cuirass and left and right gauntlets, I suppose the belt slot should return too. Though rings should probably be kept to two, in the interest of balance, it's been like that since rings were used as items you can wear in RPGs, at least I've never seen a game where you can wear more than two rings, and that number works, allowing players to wear as many rings they want would just make them too overpowered, maybe if there were more slots, it could still work if the game were balanced accordingly, but I don't think there's much need for that, the old system is just fine, no need to risk making the game too unbalanced with a new one.
One thing about the MW system, in morrowind you were disadvantaged in late game for not wearing armour, and I don't mean the obvious things like less protection, but for enchantment, armour had 5 bodys slots of its own in MW(Cuirass, greaves, shield and 2 pauldrons) that is 5 more powerful enchantments. That needs to be fixed some way.
And Bethesda still failed to fix that in Oblivion, because in the end, the only unarmored glove-type items in the game are a pair of shackles. Plus, they took out the unarmored skill, meaning that no matter how many enchantments you use an unarmored character will still be at a disadvantage because an armored character can get the same enchantments and also have armor.
I think it should be the same as in Morrowind, but with gloves/gauntlets and pauldrons/shoulder wear sold together. I mean you buy boots together, In real life people wouldn't just sell you one glove, right?
No one in real life would just sell you one glove, but you might choose to wear different gloves on each hand, or only one glove on one hand, or you might lose one glove in a pair and use one from a different pair in its place, in Morrowind, you could do this too, but in Oblivion, Bethesda decided to take out that option for some reason. If I don't want to be semetrical, why should I have to?
like every1 else, id like the amount a armour slots as there were in MW, and just as much variety in the weapons and armour as there was in MW. Also, i think it would be sweet if they made things like belts and rings more noticeable, which was kind of done in OB, so if you could mix and match things in E5 including clothing and shiny belts, u could make a pretty bad ass looking character.
Belts weren't in Oblivion, which is why they weren't visible, that being said, though, it always annoyed me that in Oblivion most gauntlets and cuirass's cover up the rings and amulets, if my character has a nice looking amulet, I want to see it whenever I go into third person, I don't want it covered by what I'm wearing.
