good news every one

your on the wrong thread, that is not what this discussion is about, its about new information in the ign interview that is related to the CK and the possibility of attributes as a mod. we are not discussing the merits of attributes here, we had that discussion, it went no where.

You opened the discussion to attributes requiring a learning curve and since your the OP, I was just following your lead. I already put my input about the change, the possibility of you adding back in attributes if you want in a mod is fine, the more power to you.

Because I like to role play

and I need more than three stats to govern the development of my thief and assasin character, the less choices my design has the make the less variety in those sub type characters, assasins will be more like thiefs than before even though there is a definite difference, no true any more because their governing attributes are now thrown together and they become clone character designs.

All your arguments or points are based off of assumptions with zero foundation to support them. Give the system a go when it's available, in the mean time try to remain positive instead of acting like a negative nancy on the topic of attributes.

The attributes may actually still be there, for all I know, only invisible to the player who doesn't actually have to know their values. Maybe they work under the surface and increase will skill increases, similar to how Oblivion would play with Kubo's Character Advancement System if you weren't allowed to view your attribute scores?

you very much so need to read the OP. I did not bring up the attribute system debate, the purpose of this thread was of a positive nature. and I have nothing to do with the less positive elements.

Edit: Actually, the second part of my response was actually for gpstr, not the OP, my bad.

it doesnt help me, but hopfully there is a way to mod back attributes, you could even mod them to matter more so. I'll use Todds latest interview for example. He said that encumbrance based on strength made no sense, so they "fixed" it. How? They put it under stamina? You could mod it back in but make it deeper, have more things attributed to it and maybe make it a mix of strength and endurance impact carry limit. You could put all types of checks and new content in. Could be very promising for those that like depth and complexity. Wish I had a gaming PC. You could also lay it vanilla in case it is a superior system. Its yet to be seen.

But this just comes down to making up a brand new function altogether just for the sake of keeping those 8 words in the game. To that I say "Why?"

Did you even read my post? You could make them matter even more, plus some of us like the complexity of the old system. The two systems are not mutually exclusive. With the new additions Skyrim brings you could make attributes matter even more. And this is about MODS, where you can put almost anything into the game.

actually they literally impact every thing in some small way, and they impact skills in a big way directly, thats not debatable. and they still do, the devs have pointed out that attributes still exists (and thats because there would be no game if they didn't) but they have been reduced to three attributes to fulfill the function of 8. any ways, it obviously doesn't bother you, but please don't try to flame bait the people it does bother so that their opinions get locked when the thread gets locked because of trolling.

You sure your not the one flame baiting here? he was simply stating an opinion. if anyone the troll is the the first one to accuse

anyway on topic: i think you should at least try it before you go about doing something
