[RELz] Imperial Furniture Renovated

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 6:38 am

Version 1.2 is up!

I have released a new version. This is a bug fix release.

Bugs Fixed
  • fixed collision on Fine Cupboard with glass doors. When you opened the doors, they would appear to open but you would be unable to place anything inside the cupboard. I have also tweaked the interior collision on the shelves in this cupboard so that the Ayleid Statues would be a little easier to place inside.
  • added new option to options menu for chandeliers, wall sconces, fireplace, paintings, tapestries and wall-mounted tool racks called "All Done". When these items are moved using the options menu, the collision mesh on the object is not moved with it. This means that you won't be able to place other items as close to these objects as you should be able to. You also may find that your character runs into an invisible object. Once you have finished positioning these objects, select All Done from the options menu to shift the collision mesh. The object will briefly disappear and then reappear.
  • stopped options menu from appearing when player character is sitting. Now clicking on the activate button while sitting will simply order the PC to stand, as it would with regular chairs.
  • removed blank menu option for the display cases and cupboard with glass doors

This will be the final update to the patch version. I plan to add more items and new functionality which will require Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE). The new functionality will require every script in Imperial Furniture to be modified and it would be a very long and tedious process to maintain both the patch and the full mod, so further updates will be done to the full mod only.

I am currently working on an update to the full version that will add new items and functionality.

Version 1.3 has been released!

WARNING: If you are a serious cluttermonkey, use the new release with caution! So many new items have been added that attempting to purchase and place all of them at once will seriously impact your quest completion and exploration time. You have been warned :)

Imperial Furniture Renovated now requires OBSE ver. 18 or better.

I have added several miniaturized versions of various items and statues. Now you don't have to fill all those bookshelves with 50 copies of the Manual of Spellcraft. I have also added ingredient storage shelves, upholstered furniture, bases and pedestals, armless chairs and middleclass tapestries. See the additions section below for a full list.

See the Nexus download page for pictures of all the new additions. Several of the new items are also on display in the Imperial Furniture store. As another option, you can see all the new additions by visiting a new testing area I created. Open the console and type 'coc AM7TestingCell' without the quotes. All the new stuff is in the large room. Everything in that room is from Imperial Furniture Renovated. To leave the Testing Cell, reload a saved game or type 'coc weye' to be teleported to the village of Weye.

This is actually the first of a two-phase release. I'm waiting on some new OBSE functions that I hope to utilize in another major update. I don't know the timing of the next update yet, but keep checking back for updates.

I have also added a colum to the Item List spreadsheet that lists who sells what. It is now available as a separate download for those that would like to see what Imperial Furniture sells.

Additions:
  • Ingredient storage shelves! You can now buy the best ingredient storage containers available and place them just like any other item from Imperial Furniture. The options menu has two new options for storing your ingredients or just opening the cupboard. All three upperclass versions and the middleclass wall-mounted version were added. Also, quest items are NOT removed from your inventory. These may be purchased from Mischa.
  • Miniature ship. Now you can buy a miniature version of a pirate ship and place it on a shelf or table. It fits best in the Fine Cupboard with Glass Doors. All the statues and clutter items are purchased from Mischa.
  • Miniature lighthouse. What would be a ship without a lighthouse to go along with it? Once again, this fits best in the Fine Cupboard with Glass Doors.
  • Miniature priory chapel. Completing the miniature architecture set :) This will fit in the cupboard or in a bookshelf.
  • Full size and miniature versions of one of the Fort Ruins statues. This is the same statue that is used in the Battlehorn Castle entry hall and now you can buy more of them to fill the remaining cubby holes that don't have statues. Caution: the full size statue is large and weighs 50 units. The miniature version is small enough to place on a bookshelf.
  • Minature version of the Chorrol statue. This is the statue found just inside the main gate to Chorrol. It is small enough to be placed on a bookshelf. It won't fit inside the Fine Cupboard because the shelves of the cupboard aren't deep enough. See the pictures on the Nexus download page.
  • Minature version of Garridan's final battle. This is the statue of Garridan fighting the frost atronach, all encased in ice! This is too big for the cupboard or a bookcase. It is more suited to sitting on a table and may be viewed in the Imperial Furniture store. It's sitting on a table upstairs. You can use SetScale in the console to shrink it down to size if you want to put it in a bookcase.
  • Miniature version of one of the Elven statues found outside of Ayleid Ruins. This is suitable for placing in the cupboard or on the top shelf of a large wall unit. You can use the SetScale console command to shrink it a bit to fit in a bookcase.
  • Minature version of the Akatosh Dragon statue. This is the statue that appears at the end of the game... It is best placed on the custom pedestal designed for it. It won't fit in the cupboard or a bookcase. It will sit nicely on top of a bookcase or on a table.
  • Miniature version of the Imperial City Dragon statue from the Talos Plaza district. This won't fit in the cupboard because the shelves aren't deep enough, but will fit on a bookshelf.
  • Small versions of several Daedric statues that sit on the floor. These don't come with bases - you can buy those separately so you can put them on any base. You can also just put them on the floor. They can be locked in position once placed.
  • Miniature versions of the same Daedric statues as those above. These do come with bases. Some will fit in bookcases, others are more suited to the cupboard, but all may be tweaked by using the SetScale console command.
  • Upholstered sofa and chair in burgundy leather. These may be purchased from Damien.
  • Upholstered dining chairs in black and green fabric. Also purchased from Damien.
  • Several bases and pedestals. All bases and pedestals can be locked in position! These are purchased from Damien.
    • I have added a basic circular base in a dark wood and rough stone texture. These would be good to use as little platforms for Reznod's Mannequins (available separately :)). They are also good bases for the larger versions of the Daedric statues.
    • I have also added a tall square stone pedestal that would be ideal to use as an anvil stand (you can buy anvils from Imperial Furniture).
    • Daedric statue bases in smooth and rough stone. These are ideal for the larger versions of the Daedric statues.
    • Square base in dark wood. This is just a generic bases that can used for whatever you like! It works with the larger Daedric statues too.

  • added chairs with no arms. These are better suited to use around a table. These are purchased from Damien.
  • added a selection of middleclass tapestries. There may be purchased from Mischa.

Bug Fixes and Changes:
  • removed saved game bloat caused by use of PlaceAtMe function. Imperial Furniture Renovated still uses this function, but its affects have been mitigated by using an OBSE function to remove disabled references once the item has been placed.
  • changed the glass texture on the Fine Cupboard to use the etched rose glass texture from Storm Raven Library Productions. The glass doors are now clear so that you can see what is inside the cupboard!
  • created two versions of the single bed so that you can choose which side it will be accessed from when you lock it in position. Makes it companion friendly!

Perhaps someone can verify this issue:

I purchased a bed for my companion Vilja (the 2.3 Vilja version). When I showed her that it was her bed she did not recognize it as such. I think it has to do with ownership. I suspect this could be an issue with chairs and benches also? Anyway to make the funrniture companion friendly if they are not already and the problem is mine?

Have you downloaded the new version yet? Just released a few minutes ago :) I fixed the single bed so that you could set the furniture marker to be on the correct side when placing the bed. This will stop companions from walking into walls. I also set the furniture markers on the armless chairs so that they can be accessed from either side. However, items from Imperial Furniture don't have any ownership at all. The ownership flag would be inherited from the cell they are placed in. I don't play with companions so I don't have a lot of feedback on how the furniture behaves with companions. I tested this at Battlehorn and they used the bed. I've had another player report that his companion would use the bed, but at that time the marker wasn't configurable, so it didn't always work.

Can you try the new version and let me know if that helps? I don't know what to do about the ownership issue. Perhaps the house mod you are using doesn't set the cell ownership properly. If I was able to set the ownership on Imperial Furniture items, what would I set it to - player faction? That's what I'm guessing...

Anyway please try the new version and let me know if it works. If it doesn't work, please let me know where you are trying to place the bed or chairs that aren't working.

I am going to get the new version now and try on my new game I am staring next week.

The issue with the bed I had in two locations:

Battlehorn castle, my companion could not use the new bed but could use the Battlehorn bed.
Glenvar castle. Companion would not recognize the bed.

Not a huge deal in a castle but a small house mod it could be annoying.

Anyway, you have done spectacular work on Imperial Furniture and it is one of my top 10 must have mods for any game.

Ok, so I don't think it's the furniture itself then. I notice that Glenvar is not listed as companion friendly in Emma's thread, so it might not set the cells to the player faction and that's what the issue is. You can set the ownership of something in the console, so you could try this:
- open the console and click on the bed. You should see the id of the bed at the top of the screen.
- type SetOwnership PlayerFaction
- close the console

This should set the ownership of the bed to the player faction and hopefully that will allow your companion to use the bed in Glenvar castle.

I posted the Glenvar castle reply in Vilja's thread that Companion Vilja did use the guest wing, just not the room I told her to use. So I think it may be friendly. I will try the console command next time I buy a bed, same with a chair maybe. Thanks for the advice.

Ah interesting. So the author must have set the cell ownership in the guest wing. Thanks for the feedback.

As you long as you were running the full version of IFR before, there's no problem upgrading from any version (1.0 +) :) If you were running Imperial Furniture (the original by Amajor7) or Imp. Furniture + IFR patch, then you would have to buy everything again :(

Just re-uploaded version 1.3. I had a problem with the CS crashing when I was trying to place a couple of the lights in the new test/demonstration cell. When I fixed that I invalidated a couple of the scripts and forgot to recompile them

If you want to or have purchased the Plain Chandelier or the Candles on a Silver Plate, please grab version 1.3 again. Sorry 'bout that! :)

Welcome to the forums! Have a http://www.uesp.net/w/images/images.new/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg :) Don't ask... It's a Beth forums tradition that some of us keep alive

Anyway, hope you like it. I do plan one or two more updates, but won't be working on this one for a month or so.

A bit of an update: HavenofDarkness has created a http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36212 for Imperial Furniture Renovated!! Now the beds sold by Imperial Furniture are See you Sleep compatible.

Also, for those that didn't see it earlier, I released a major update to IFR that added a whole bunch of clutter items, ingredient storage shelves (with scripts) and upholstered furniture...

Small update: the upholstered sofa and chair had a corrupted texture that wouldn't work for people running with medium size textures. Amadaun has fixed them for me and made them look MUCH better than before. The new version is also a bit darker because I felt that the previous version was a little bit too red.

I have uploaded a fix file for those running version 1.3 already and have also re-uploaded the full 1.3 download for those not running that version. I suggest you grab the fix file even if you're not running medium textures because the new textures really do look much better than my sad attempt! :)

Thanks to Amadaun for fixing these. Clearly I should stick to scripting and leave the texturing to the experts!

Another small update. Had to re-upload the sofa and chair texture fix because I got my files mixed up! The previous version had a problem with the collision. I had fixed it but put the wrong version in the archive. :sigh: Too many things on the go... So if you grabbed the previous fix, please grab it again. The whole package was also updated with the fix.

Minor update uploaded. I have changed the mesh on the leather sofa and chair to stop them from falling through some floors. Also syscrusher redid the miniature ship mesh for me to reduce the number of vertices to improve performance.

Thanks to ReALty for testing the new sofa and chair. Thanks to syscrusher for the optimized ship mesh.
