He also intimates it can be of any depth too. "We just make a piece of art once and you say how much snow it has on it..."
I'm assuming he meant the developers make a set amount of how much snow can gather on one object. It's kind of self-explanatory. I mean it was either that or the snow just piles up until it falls down.
