Will OOO 1.34 ever be finished?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:19 pm

Hello,

I played vanilla oblivion about 3 years ago and have been wanting to play again with OOO. I come on here about every 2 weeks to check on the status of 1.34, but can rarely if ever find update info. Its been in beta status for years (i checked the last page of the forum, and there is a topic from 2009 talking about the 1.34 beta) I want to play it with only OOO installed as FCOM sounds like way too much stuff, and have been waiting for it to be considered finished.
I know I shouldn't whine as this is something I will be getting for free, but I'm really excited to play. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thanks alot!

There will be a full non-beta release at some point, yes.

A good place to ask questions on a particular mod is always in it's home thread.
Bascially the mod is finished in all but name, apart from some final small tweaks..
Is there something in particular that makes it unplayable for you the way it is now?

Heh, you should have asked the status of FCOM 1.0 while you were at it

I understand that corepc and Team Alpha are almost done but a few tweaks remain. ETA, no clue. I'm grateful for their efforts nonetheless.

As long as Dev_Akm remains absent (and there is no indication he will not) then any additions to OOO will likely get the prefix 'Unofficial' or another beta version.

FCOM's next version is not going to be version 1 from what I understand, just another beta iteration.

Question is why wait? They are usable now - especially OOO which only has a few small things that stand out and are not, to me, game breaking.

There are a couple minor nuisances and bugs but, like it is said, nothing that breaks the game or prevents you to play it and enjoy.

There should be a new update release with assets packed into BSA and minor bugs fixed. I think CorePC (OOO team?) was preparing something like that.

And now is the time to report any bugs/nuisances etc. in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1159634-relz-oscuros-oblivion-overhaul-133/ so they can be fixed in the next release. :)

Exactly. It's mostly fixes plus it switches to a bsa. And, to answer Psymon, it will be an "official" release, or at least as official as the ones dev_akm released after Sotobrastos leaving. It's connected to the team rather than one particular author. Anyway, no need to wait until the release as OOO 1.34 Beta 5 is very stable. And you can update to the new version without issues but that said - install OOO 1.33/1.34 Beta 5 either via OBMM or BAIN as you'll need to remove all loose resources when updating to the upcoming bsa release.

Yes, I sent a small bug fix plugin some time ago. I had been updating the current 1.34b5 plugin with minor cleanup but it should make no difference to what is already being done in the next update.

Thanks everyone for the nice answers. I am almost finished with fallout 3 and then intend on playing oblivion with OOO installed. Again, thanks for the quick answers.
