Cabins...

There where cabins in OB,but none you could own and live in...

I for one wouldn't mind having a cabin out in the wilds,or set back a way from the road.

Am I alone in this?

There was a cabin-esque shack you purchase in the imperial waterfront district.

With a degree fast travel being implemented in the game, I'd probably just jump to my house. But a cabin/forest retreat would be a good idea.

I have a nice cabin in the woods in Oblivion but it is a mod. I am sure there will be similar mods in the future for Skyrim.

They have to have a cabin to own in the deep, snowy mountains. Skyrim's region pretty much begs for something like this.

Not true at all. I've had characters which lived in Greyland (skooma cabin outside of Leyawiin, bed can be slept in and chest holds loot without respawning), along with about close to a dozen others throughout Cyrodiil.

Nope. It can be done in OB, though.

I'm hoping for a cave I can own. Very berzerker.

Squatting in a place and owning it are two different things.

I hope they have ownable cabins/homes/manors in Skyrim that are in the middle of no where. I think they will given the dlc they added to Oblivion...eg Battlehorn castle.

What really is the difference in a game? A line of text giving your character exclusive ownership over it?

I would say in this case, the line is very fuzzy.

Ah,forgot about grayland, and theres a place I use near an inn,up a hill that you can wait in...

I'm one of those poor sods on a console, but I don't bemoan being modless,it's still very enjoyable.

Some of Oblivion's DLC was a little like that. The Wizard's Tower and Vile Lair were both well off the beaten track. It's good fun to have a place in the middle of nowhere and a sort of hunters log cabin affair would fit in well with the Skyrim feel.

Ah. I see. You want to actually buy one. I get it now.

I"m on the PS3 as well. So there was Greyland, there was also that little farm with a cabin to the east of Kvatch (forget the name of it, but it had a farm and was under attack from bears or seomthing), Shardrock...Weatherleah (although I don't remember if you could sleep here before the quest was done).

They also had safehouses out of the way like this in Fallout: New Vegas, so I would definetly say yes.
