Help with a combat build!

So, I've been trying to get into Morrowind for a while now and I finally decided what kind of character I want to play as. I've goofed around a little in the game, just to get a basic feel for it, but I want to create a character that is able to use all of his major and minor skills extensively. In other words, I don't want any skills that are useless or just for leveling up attributes. I want to play as a character that relies on combat for the most part, but maybe knows a little bit about other stuff, like alchemy and lockpicking. I don't really like magic. Anyway, I've come up with a build and I thought that maybe some of you veterans could give me some pointers?

Race: Redguard
Class: Skirmisher
Spec.: Combat
Fav. Attributes: Endurance, Luck
Birthsign: The Steed

Major skills: Medium Armor, Armorer, Long Blade, Marksman, Athletics
Minor skills: Security, Mercantile, Alchemy, Short Blade, Heavy Armor

I'm aware of the fact that Medium Armor doesn't have as much variety as the others, but I do have the expansions for the game and I heard that they add some more. Is this correct? I don't really mind, though. Medium Armor is just my personal preference, but I did take Heavy Armor as a minor skills just for the heck of it, even though it may end up being a skill I won't use too much. Your comments and help is appreciated. (:

I think you have a really good build here, except two things.
I would get rid of Mercantile and use Speachcraft instead. It's much more handy, and you'll use it a lot to get info from people. Or use Block if you plan on using a shield a lot.

The Steed might sound like a good idea, but it's kinda pointless. I would choose one that will actually help in battle. Like The Thief or The Atronach.

Yes, the expansions add four new sets of Medium armor. (along with two Light and two Heavy sets)

Yeah, money doesn't seem to be a problem in Morrowind, so Speechcraft it is. I'm not going for Block because I like the claymores. And yes, you're right about the birthsign, I'll reconsider that. How about the Lady? Endurance seems to be important and the extra points to personality would make Speechcraft a bit easier.

I also like speechcraft vs mercantile.

Security would be more useful as a major. It wouldn't hurt Athletics to be a minor. I would suggest swapping them.

Light armor makes more since to me than Heavy for a skirmisher.

As a long time warrior I also like the Lady.

I usually don't use The Lady for combat characters.
You start with too much Endurance, and it makes it too easy.

I like using a spear or halberd....it gives Endurance bonuses when leveling up, resulting in a lot of hit points ultimately. I would swap that for short sword any day. That's just me. The Glass Halberd is my favorite weapon in the game. It's light and effective.
