How to create a restore magicka item

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:10 am

I have recently started playing as a mage (if any of you have seen my thread in the general discussion forum), and even with a massive amount of magicka, it runs out, and when it does it requires tons of potions to refill (especially with 800 magicka!). I had always wished there was a magicka effect so we could create magicka items... Then I realized you can! Get a deadric shield (you'll need the points for this one), a very good soulgem (golden saint or better, probably better), and a good enchantment skill (100 is best).

Spell absorption on self (however many points you can fit) for 2 sec
Damaging spell something on self (for however many points your absorption spell was) for 1 sec

you could probably do duration spells too, which would be more effective, as long as the spell absorption is 1 second longer (don't want to risk hurting yourself). If you have helseths ring you could probably just cast damaging spells on yourself, but they might be resisted or reflected (reflected on self?). I haven't tried it yet, but I want to try it out. If it's for between battles, it could probably be a super long duration because you need all the magicka you can get! Any thoughts or comments?

You know, using the same logic...
Spoiler
...why not spellmake Drain intelligence on max magnitude for min secs? Replenishes full magicka and the prices are low.

Um.... That's more like cheating and abusing the game mechanic..... I'm sorry, my logic wasn't cheating, as it costs A LOT. When you use absorption you're supposed to absorb. When you use drain, I don't think they meant it to be an instant magicka restore (though it happened that way). If you're going to use the drain trick, you might as well use bloat and ash yams and the soul trap glitch.

Except while your logic might not be cheating, it doesnt work. Spell absorbtion doesnt affect cast on self spells. It has nothing to do with damaging effects or not (hence why you sometimes lose out on the benefits of a shrine with spell absorbtion).
