Is there a lore friendly sky mod?

Something that has birth sign constellations that you can see in the night sky? You probably wouldn't actually notice it in game but I'm curious.

I thought the vanilla game had the constellations?

I know at least one sky mod I have used at some stage said it removed them, from which I made the assumption that they were there to begin with.

Not just you - I recall reading somewhere that the constellations can be seen in the night sky in vanilla.

I am fairly sure I have seen Birthsign in the Vanilla Night Sky has well. I know the stars stand out with Vibrant Weather Texture Replacers..

I can't find anything on them actually existing though. Has anyone been sure they've seen them in vanilla?

I'm not sure in-game, but if I remember correctly, the sky-textures themselves are named after constellations (like the mage, the thief, the warrior... I think).

They are in Vanilla Oblivion. You just have to know what your looking for, be looking at the right time, in the right conditions, etc. However, they are also completely random, so which one you may see on any particular nite has nothing to do with what month it is. Mage and Serpent are the easiest to spot, as there almost straight up when visable. Others are at various positions around you, but not at the same time.

Ok thanks for the confirmation.

Does anyone know a mod that is just like the Vanilla sky but higher resolution then? I'm restoring my sky default for now.

Also does all natural change sky textures?

My favorite night sky is the one in http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18677. But as with all vibrant replacers I guess it's not larger than the vanilla one. Looks great, though.

And, no, All Natural doesn't change the night sky.

Could you take a picture for me at night so I can see what it looks like? Also you could upload it to the TesNexus page while you're at it.

They're just the vanilla textures with filters and stuff right?

Also thanks for Shining Creatures, downloaded it recently and it's a lovely mod.

That might take a while as I'm actually not playing the game ATM. :(

Corepc should take that but, yes, I think so. Basically, it makes the stars more visible and "stand out" as Corepc said - not as "bland" as the vanilla night sky.

Thanks! :)

EDIT: http://www.bluemelon.com/photo/18688/1165148.jpg has some stars, but it's taken because I was impressed by AWLS rather. :)

Too late but here are two quick screens:

http://www.bluemelon.com/photo/18688/1391807.jpg - Guess those are birth sign constellations? Note the falling star from PTFallingStars. :)

Those are Awesome ScreenShots..Wizard Tower in particular..

the Bright Blue, Green, Yellow and Red Stars are the BrithSign's..

And has David Allen said depends on time (dusk, dawn, night), month, season when they show up..

Nightsky from Vibrant Weather Texture Replacers, moons from Better Nightsky, nebulae from Night Sky Fire and Ice 3, falling stars from PTFallingStars.

Thanks for that guys, I'm going to add ptfallingstars to my game and I'm using Better Nightsky moons because they actually look like they should.

Another last question :P Is there a mod that adds moons that are akin to Morrowind's? Better Nightsky comes close but not quite.

I havn't played Morrowind but the moons look nicer in it from what I've seen and I don't know if there's a reason why they're so radically different after only a few ingame years.
