[RELz] Enhanced Seasons

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 11:07 am

Enhanced Seasons 1.2 released.

This fixes ES creating save game bloat in your OBSE save files. To remove any bloat you currently have, deactivate the plugin and save your game, this will remove all ES-specific data, and then you can install the new version. Sorry about that, forgot how function variables worked.

FRAPS (free version) will let you record up to 30s of video, which is plenty for this.

Why would I want to do that? It's compatible with more stuff as a separate mod, and is easier to maintain.

I've got an update in the works to improve the smoothness of the day length changes as you change latitude, by about 7 times. I can't get it any smoother than that, unfortunately, and it's still a bit noticeable around sunrise/set when the lighting changes quickly, but it's a lot better than before. Just waiting on wkomarecki to give me some details on the issue he's having so I can look at that.

Yesterday/today I spend my night time with Ob. and Fraps. I couldn't catch this issue again. I tried all this simptom being giveing situations, with "the better" - transmission between night and day. Nothing . The difference are : original oblivion.exe, new VC drivers , reinstalled ES.
I get back to modified Ob.exe ( CFF Explorer ) - nothing . The answer seems simply - VC drivers. But no. It is not - I had this issue with ALL ini options
combinations exept " all = zero " one .
Today, when I back home ( 8 pm Europe time ) I will check old save ( before ES reinstalling , but newes ver. too) with old and new VC drivers.
If I will get success, I will post video, load order and the save ( if it depends on V drv. of course not ) . If not I will feel obligate to apologize you (and myself )
for wast of time.

P.S.
If you have any idea , I'm open.

Enhanced Seasons 1.3 released!

This fixes the issue wkomarecki reported, which was very rapid changes in the effects applied, and was due to the slightly random nature of the season selection. I've removed the random element, which stops the season selected changing every frame.

It also smooths out the changes in day length as you change latitude - I increased the sensitivity to its maximum, which is roughly 7 times more than it was before, so changes should be a lot less noticeable, although they still could be around sunrise and sunset when the rate of change of light levels is high.

Small bump. I found a bug in the All Natural compatibility a short while ago, and once I make sure my fix doesn't break vanilla weather, I'll release an update. In the meantime, it's probably best if you don't use the two together.

Exactly what it says it does... Look to the right of the semicolon ( ; ) for the description of each setting. Anything with the leading character of a semicolon ( ; ) is a description. This is common for any configuration settings in INIs and scripts.

Yes, of course, I guess what I really wanted to know what "shader changes" actually do. It changes the saturation and contrast during seasons? The value is set to 0.

ok, thanks. I guess i will turn this on to see it in action. I'm curious why this was off by default. Maybe the changes are too dramatic for some folks.

Just in case anyone's wondering, it's because of the OBGEv2 requirement. Since it requires something the user may not have, it's off unless they decide they want to use it.

Enhanced Seasons 1.3.1 released. Only change is a bug fix for when using it alongside All Natural, to prevent weather desync.

Cool - thanks for the fix WN. Is there a need for clean saving the game?

If you're talking about the All Natural fix plugin, yes. That's for All Natural. This is Enhanced Seasons. They are not the same thing.

Nope, I haven't done a blizzard type weather yet. It would be in All Natural though, if/when done. Time is tight though, and I'm struggling to even get time to bug-fix, so that's been slipping...

Enhanced Seasons v1.3.2 released.

This fixes a bug that caused sunrise/set time differences between interiors and exteriors. As such, it's only noticeable when using ES alongside All Natural. During testing I found that although the times are now identical, the interior sky tends to be a bit lighter than the exterior sky. I'm not sure why, all I can think of is that it's due to the differences in the interior and exterior weather lighting, and it's not something I can change without messing that up.
