Will the Khajit have claws

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:35 pm

bit of a daft question, in the screen shot he was wearing gloves, am just saying it be better if they had claws not just normal nails, i mean it would make that Little bit more intriguing if they had claws after all humanoid big cats

Claws would be cool, Maybe some unique racial ability involving then could also work?

Also, Random question, Your real name wouldn't happen to be John would it?

I may be wrong, but I don't see how this makes any sense within the Khajit race.

If they have paws instead of feet they will have to have paws instead of hands then they can't carry a sword or a bow.

I'd like them not to be a tiger / lion styled humanoid and not just a tiger / lion that happens to stands up on its hind legs and speaks.

I would like to see this also, same for Argonians, would also like to see special moves for both, with both using claws as special weapons, and Argonians being able to do sweeps of the legs with their tails also, BTW if you look carefully at the pic of the Khajiit, you will notice that his stance may indicate, that he has the Morrowind legs, instead of the human/oblivion type legs.

if thats the case I change my decision to choose a khajiit as my second character after a Nord. I hated the legs in Morrowind. I thought they looked daft. I also hated not being able to wear full armors.

not me, I can just imagine a wild crazy khajiit warrior, specialized in unarmed fighting, half naked jumping out of the bushes attacking would be enemies, and thats just how I would play him, for 500+ hrs :)

perhaps if they gave the choice of legs etc would be better. Those that want an unarmed Khajiit with claws to attack with can go thier way and those like myself who want a light armored Khajiit with blade and bow can go our way.

Actually claws are part of the definition of a paw. A paw can be plantigrade.

I also hope they still use gloves and such even if they have retractable claws. After all a claw is nothing compared to an actual weapon. The human bite is actually pretty powerful. Is a bite a typical main combat weapon for humans though? I'm going to guess... no.

Wow I can't believe Google worked!

I hope they do something like this for handpaws and footpaws:

Don't see how they will work for hands and be of any useful size, the claws on a cat is lifted not retracted, they are only hidden in the fur, the muscles who control this is in the paw not the toes themselves. in theory you could put it on the end of a finger but the claw would be pretty small and of little use in combat.
if you had paws for feet you could have lion style claws who would be pretty nice to have.

Isn't there already a thread for this?

Don't care if they have claws. Though... better not have claws, Khajiit might even be a challenge for my Nord character then.

This would be the best way to do it; almost everyone who wants to play a Khajiit would then be satisfied. It's also appropriate since there are different "breeds" of Khajiit in the Elder Scrolls universe, which include the plantigrade and digitigrade varieties in Oblivion and Morrowind, respectively.

Personally, I would like to have the Skyrim Khajiit be like the Morrowind ones (digitigrade legs). Liztail's New Beast Bodies for Morrowind made them look right, and also gave them long claws on their hands.
