Revives

what do you guys think about maybe being to revive npc's that were killed extremely recently (like five seconds recently) but not if they were like decapitated or something?

I like it...it's freaking magic, why can't it bring someone back to life? Plus, this would add another layer of depth if you have limb removement/decapitation. You can revive only who bodies, take the head off, nothing you can do but shed a tear, loot their corpse, and move on.

Isn't this basically the ultimate goal of Necromancy? No one has been able to figure out how to completely resurrect someone with just a simple spell. Instead we get zombies.

but if they VERY RECENTLY died, you should be able to just use like a heal spell or something and it should save them.....in real life cpr can bring someone back and we dont even have magic

I actually always thought would be cool to perform some sort of permanent resurrecting spell for a npc you killed.
I didn't like how in oblivion when you get the King Of Worm staff it only bought the npc back to a zombiefied state for only a few seconds.
I would like to see some sort of improvement of necromancy in Skyrim.

I actually kind of like the idea. However, it would definitely conflict with quests and NPC interaction.

Totally disagree with the idea. It would ruin a lot of the past lore where very important people die and the healers can't do anything. I've always hated "revive" magic because its total bunk. Conveniently present in the game, but conveniently absent in the lore and in important situations.

CPR only works in certain situations. How often does CPR revive someone who was beaten to a pulp by an Ogre, or stabbed through the heart with a sword? I think if a resurrection spell existed, it would be well documented and mentioned before now.

I'm not saying there can't or shouldn't be one, so long as it's acknowledged as a new thing, or discovered by the player his/herself.

^This^

besides... bringing the dead back to life is called necromancy and it is frowned upon in TES as of recently. how much so now that the empire is pretty much gone, idk.

I'm pretty sure if people can buy in to the whole "ancient dragon and ancient dragon borns" that came out of nowhere. People couldn't possible have a hard time buying into "there has just been a break through in necromancy within the past 200 hundred years." after all many people do study necromancy in TES.

Wasn't Tiber Septim a dragonborn though?

Yeah we have CPR, but it hardly ever works. Yeah, it always works on television and in the movies, but in reality only about 5% of people who receive CPR survive, and even then they'd be very lucky to get away without any permanent damage.

I don't think we should have resurrection magic... imagine fighting through a cave with an ally, who keeps dying so you immediately revive them each time. It wouldn't be right.

It might be cool for people that are "slightly" dead. I would only like it to be available in limited situations, not as a overly powerful universal lifesaver, though.

it would be cool, but I would want it to be something I couldn't do right away. I would want to be a master of some magic field since I don't think Necromancy is an option. Or is it? I don't know.... Someone will correct me if I am wrong!

sure why not.

I do it all the time. I like keeping my NCR buddies around. I find a deader I resurrect 'em.

I expect to learn the secret power over death in skyrim too, eventually.
