injuries

i liked grand theft auto 4's version of injuries...people would fall down when hurt and either get up and hobble away or roll around on the ground/die. I think in skyrim, you should be able to visually see that your opponent is near death. Hence you should be able to incapacitate them without killing them.

I second that notion

Yeah this is a good idea. In my opinion few games have matched Goldeneye for enemy hit reaction. I'd like to see something like that.

I like this I always wanted something like that in oblivion. I'm sure they will put this in if they have finishing moves. Them looking hurt and fumbling around will probably let you know when you can use the finishing move.

i would like it more if they are laying on the ground incapacitated.....i cannot believe how perfectly this was done in gta 4....maybe it isnt really good for tes though

I've always wanted to know what the game would be like with location damage... but I imagine it would make the concept of skill progression (on the weapon skills) a little watered down. You can go a long way from being a terrible swordsman just by hitting the head every time :D

here here!!!! As long as it could happen to you to!

Just imagine how fights would be. I think they would get a lot more intense. Both of you are struggling to keep up your weapons, and a final blow from either of you could end the fight... That would be awesome!! or annoying... it could be that to.

Interesting idea... but more people carried around weapons back in Skyrim's time to defend themselves. Also, Skyrim's towns will be much smaller, with guards and the like. Overall it won't fit in with Skyrim's theme.

even if they dont, i do not think people/animals should have such a lack of self importance that they go on suicide missions to kill you for no reason....and i still would like to see them hobbling

locational damage all the way!!!!! they keep talking up the wonderful havoc system so if they dont have it in the game already it would be kind of embarassing. and yes it should apply to you. you take leg damage you hobble and cant run. if you take head damage your vision is blurry and and if not treated you can pass out and die.

I'd like to see the on fire effect that GTA IV had. I loved just running around throwing Molotov' at people and hearing them scream in pain, rolling on the ground and croak before death. Charred bodies laying there lifeless. Good stuff. \m/

Not sure how injuries done in GTA IV would fit into TES though. In knock back effects maybe, to a better extent than Oblivion'. But, I'd feel pretty bad if I'd have to kill a guy that wasn't in top form (limping, holding his arm in pain, etc). If they yield when doing so, then yeah. But in games like TES I don't kill people unless I absolutely have to. If were talking creature injuries sure, KILL EM ALL! Wounded or not. :P

Like in RED DEAD REDEMPTION you could cripple ppls feet and make em suffer then walk up to then and have a finishing head shot with all a little sequence

Brilliant topic! Visible, by sight or animations, injuries are just the right thing! Too bad we're still a little too basic overall in our computing skills to make an injury interfere with a preset animation. Running and running with an injured leg, still ( to my knowledge ) have to be programmed as separate animations. When the day dawns that an injury or fatigue can be worked out by something like the biologically programmed equivalent of a physx chip I will cheer my head off... Then load up a game and shoot 687 people in the butt , just to see what happens! Cheers!

Injuries and Location Damage are in Fallout 3 and were expanded more in FONV, so I'm expecting both to be in Skyrim (and will be pretty disappointed if they are left out).
