Running4Cover's List of Stealth Mods - 2nd Thread

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:22 am

Bumping this thread so it doesn't get lost.

Thank you, Kai! As an observant person may have noticed I've neglected to properly maintain this list of late (I would like to blame college life and such, but really I was just lazy and distracted :P). I'm hoping to take the time in the near future to fix a few of the things on this list that don't meet my OCD-like standard of perfection. I'm glad you thought this was worth saving!

Have you considered adding http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14723? :)

I have now! I'll add it next time I update the list! Thanks (what? I'm more than three months late in replying? You must be mistaken <_<)

Very much so. This is a great list, and many people open up topics for it across several boards. I always reference them to this one :D

BTW, my Stealth Wars mod is finished. You can add it to the list: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36493

Also, the first recommendations I have in tmy SW mod lists two mods that are geared towards stealthy NPCs. Might consider that as well.

I can completely understand the college thing. I neglected a LOT of stuff while I was going through it.

So midway through another semester this thread just popped into my head. Oi!

Anyway, I will add Crossbows of Cyrodiil and Stealth Wars when next I update the list, which will with any luck be in the near future. Until then, consider this a bump.

woowhooo! wombats forever! :foodndrink:

There's also a new Sneak overhaul that looks pretty promising. I haven't tested it yet though. Too busy with my own mods or testing others atm.

the sub mod is called Realistic Sneak for NPCs

Regarding pronounciation of "Hashshashin" Armor

"I don't know how to pronounce it either, but this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE armor (especially if you mix the Black armor with the crimson boots, gauntlets, and mask!)."

Hashshashin is the word where the word "assassin" comes from. "Assassin" is a corrupted Arabic loanword.

Its probably pronounced "Hash-sha-shin" though thats my guess from my Persian background rather then Arabic.

Just thought I'd expand on my new Sneaking Detection Recalibrated mod (SDR) in case anyone was curious.
gamesas forum: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1170938-relz-new-mod-sneaking-detection-recalibrated/
TESNexus files: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37385

Sneaking Detection Recalibrated (SDR)
This mod completely rewrites how sneaking/detection works. Complete details are on the main file site (see link above). A brief list of the main features* are as follows:
- Takes into account the light falling on the detector as well as the player
- The player's sneak skill is not modified in any way
- All penalties / bonuses are calculated separately for each detector-player relationship
- hardcoe settings override all the default oblivion Sneak Mastery perks, and are replaced with new rules and adjustments.
- Having a lit torch will cancel out any current or cast invisibility spell effects on the player.
- Silence spells cast on the player will nullify sound penalties
- As your Sneak mastery level increases, the speed at which you sneak gets faster
- Extended sneak attack bonuses up through Master Sneak.
- Everything you have equipped impacts your sound penalties, not just boots.
- Equipped gear takes into account, clothing, light armor, heavy armor, and weapon (if drawn).
- Equipped gear penalties apply to player and NPCs.
- Skillup bonuses for sneak attacks using bows if not detected (courtesy Haarvest and Sky Captain)
- These and more features covered in the readme .txt and an 11 page .pdf manual (part of the download package)
- Only one .esp, one .ini, OBSE v19+ and AV Uncapper plugin required.

* Although some of these features may seem familiar from other stealth mods, other than the skillup feature, all others were coded from scratch with completely new formulas and concepts.

Wombats indeed!

Anyhoo, SDR looks great; I may very well try it out tonight (err, I mean "no, I have homework to do, there's no WAY I'll spend the evening playing Oblivion" *cough*)

I didn't see http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1154877-relz-haldars-mods-pack/which has the most up to date Reneer sneak mod integrated either.

Very nice! Actually, I think that the Map portion and the swimming portion both have stealth-play ramifications as well. A worthy addition to the list!

Yes! Proof that someone actually does read the things I write! :D

Aaaanyway, I have (since writing that description) played Assassin's Creed (Through. Twice. And the sequel. Through. Twice. *cough*), and in that they pronounce it "HA-shuh-SHA-shin", which of course in no way means that is the correct pronunciation, but that's how I've been saying it in my head since I heard it. Then again my knowledge of Arabic is about as complete as my knowledge of , so I should probably stop talking :P

You may label me very curious, and hoping to try it out in the near future. It has pretty much everything I like from Stealth Overhaul with a few added bonuses of its own, not to mention no hot keys (woohoo!). It makes me wish I hadn't just rebuilt my bashed patch <_<

Just Added:
Crossbows of Cyrodiil to the Armour and Weapons Section
SDR - Sneaking Detection Recalibrated to the Tweaks Section
Stealth Wars to the Miscellaneous Section
Haldar's Mod Pack to the Overhauls & Other Mods For Stealth Players Section

Just Edited:
Description of Stealth Overhaul to include reference to SDR as an alternative.
