Cobl Conondrum?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:34 pm

I recently installed the FCOM and Cobl mods on a fresh re-install of Oblivion, and have started suffering from the following error, every time the "Saram" hairstyles are loaded.

(for those unwilling to click the link to view the PNG file)
Oblivion.exe - No DiskThere is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\harddisk2\DR2.

I first noticed this running around Bravil, and then was able to test and confirm the results in character creation, with the error box popping up three times for every "Saram" hairstyle. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to keep this message from popping up in the middle of gameplay, and disrupting the game?

Make sure you have the Cobl Cosmetics Res 01 installed. Not sure why it would lead to this pop up if not installed or not installed correctly - but first thing to check.

They're installed properly, so far as I can tell. They do, in fact, display, but the error message pops up all the same. There are other things causing it too, but I'm not entirely sure which ones are the problem, Saram's the only one I'm sure about.

No idea then. Is it covered by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330137?

I'd personally do a disk check, as it sounds more like you have bad blocks on your HDD.

Or it might be an IO error - have a look in your Event Logs to see if there are any HDD errors flagging up

While the pop ups did indeed show up on my Event Viewer, I wasn't able to find any HDD error flags on the viewer. I'm still going to check my hard drive for bad blocks, I suppose.

Did a hard drive scan, did not find any problems. Replaces the textures with the file offered and the problem seems to have gone away. I have to go to work, however, and don't have time to test it fully. The problem with the Saram hairstyles, however, is no longer present.

Whether or not the problem is fixed, thank you for all the help, everyone.
